It's been around 100 these pasts several days. AC is my new best friend. And ice cream.

Not to mention my whole state is dealing with hazy, smokey air due to the fires in Canada.

I tripped down some stairs earlier, got some pretty big bruises to show for it.

It's not, but I've had worse. About two years ago I was helping move some stuff into our new house. Part of a couch fell and hit me just below the knee, then slid down until it crunched into my ankle. My whole calf was bruised for over a month.

Yikes! Be careful Dragondog! I'm a royal klutz, so I'm always falling over, dropping things, bumping into stuff. I blame it on my height. lol

Well folks, I'm officially on vacation. I've been in a desperate need of one, and just getting out of town. Had some not good stuff happen, but had some pretty good stuff happen too. I just need to get out of town for a little while and recharge. So... off to Dad's I go! lol

I'm taking my laptop with me, so I'll be around. I'll be on the road tomorrow at 5AM with my sister. Hopefully we'll be able to keep ourselves awake with the noise I call music. XD

Same! I get so many bruises and scrapes from falling on/ running into things no one else seems to trip on

I got a magazine a few days ago. There was a couple of pages discussing an animal shelter and various pets there. Then they showed a main coon cat and said something like, "It's believed that Macgyver will be adopted before too long" I almost choked

Wow!

I love Maine Coon cats! I'd totally adopt MacGyver. teeheehee

Anyway, I'm back home! Made it safe and sound about a half hour ago. So good to see Dad and some of my other family. Miss him already.

I'm gonna crap out now though... XD

So today, I wanted a BLT from my local Panera. So my mom and I went through the drive-through, which took a while, since lunch rush wasn't quite over yet. When we got up to the window to pay, the lady working immediately handed us our order and said, "The lady who went right before you paid for your order." So I got a free lunch

Awww.... no "have a safe trip" or "welcome back"?

I spent like 3 hours yesterday and 90 minutes today taking my Pinterest board with over 860 pins and sorting it into several smaller boards. Should've done that way sooner.

I've done that before. I haven't used my pinterest account in a while though, but I found neat ideas on cabin inspired bedrooms. I dunno what it is about cabins, fireplaces and cozy beds... XD

Just chicken fried rice, cream cheese wantons, and sesame chicken.

I haven't had decent chinese food in a while. Most places are usually pretty low quality in this area. Boo!

Anyway, speaking of food.... I figure I'll put this here. Anyone that knows me knows I love food, Disney's Wilderness Lodge and I love AJ from Disney Food Blog. She's awesome.

Looks like I'll have to postpone my search for a job. My mom's having back surgery, and she's going to need my help at her own job. I'll get paid, so it's not like I'm unemployed, exactly.

I'm really upset, guys.

So my niece started going to a new school. Yesterday was her first day, and she rode a bus for the first time, and had a panic attack.

Today, a preteen girl got riled up, and assaulted her on the way home. My niece's mom (my sister) filed a complaint, and they both talked to the police. My sister's going to pick my niece up from school tomorrow, and drive to the bus stop, and see if my niece can identify the girl when she gets off the bus.

I'm not sure who's most upset: Me, my niece, her mom, or my mom.

I think you. Nobody messes with someone's niece and gets away with it. Although you could use the same logic for the other people so I don't know...

Bullying in school. That brings back memories.

That's the negative side of turning 18. I could throw that kid into the ground, then get arrested for child abuse. Probably a good thing I wasn't there at the time.

Justice, guys! The bully who assaulted my niece has been suspended. Of course, now the bully's friends keep flipping my niece off, to which she says, "Right back at ya" But justice nonetheless XD

Glad to hear there was some justice! Sounds like your niece doesn't have a problem standing up for herself, which is a good thing.

Bullies can pop up anywhere in your life, so it's always good to learn how to deal with them effectively. I never learned how to do that... bullies mostly just piss me off. lol

Yeah, I was bullied a ton for the first three years of school. Still affects me today But at least my niece is doing better now.

We had a freak storm last night. Lightning like a strobe light, constant thunder, and so much rain pelting the windows I thought it was a hurricane. My wifi is also being as finicky as heck.

So I'm darn lucky I can even get this site to load and post this comment. Catching up on all the stuff I can't do today when tomorrow comes is going to hurt...

Sounds like you were near Hurricane Florence. I have friend that was supposed to get hit pretty hard with that, but by the time it hit his area, it has died down to pretty much nothing. He said he got mostly high winds and some rain.

Which is a good thing because I was worried about him and his family. He was like... nah, we're good.

It's been hot as hades here, and BUSY. People all over the place for the Bourbon Festival. I've pretty much just stayed indoors. Cleaned my apartment today and played some Diablo 3 with the friend I mentioned above.

Been watching a LOT of Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell too... XD
