OH! MY! GOSH! Apparently, I've been on here for almost FOUR years?!?!?! I had no idea it had been that long!!!

Time flies when you're having fun, yes? XD

I kinda cringe at some of my old posts, like when I first started posting here. My crush on Mac was in full swing at that time, but has since calmed down a bit because... life. XD

Don't we all have those? I mean, I was 17 at the time. If I read back my old stories, the mistakes on spelling, grammar (they still happen no doubt) or content is just cringing. And I thought I was good writer at the time. Actually my latest wasn't so hot either to be honest. It just came back last year and I had fun with it. I'm not a good writer at all, I just have fun with it. I like to write action sequences likes fights and isms but I do notice sometimes it looks the same. I think in every story I wrote there is a fight in which one of them has a gun and Mac is making it point in another direction. It's all far from being MacGyver. It's just a world you can do whatever you want in it.

And then indeed life hits you. That's why I hadn't written anything in like 9 years. School was out, I went to work, moved out of the house and mostly due to my job I had less time to actually write. I did 12 hours a day for nearly 6 years and then life hits you again and again and everything falls apart: your life, your work, your friendships, even your family and then you get blamed because you're no longer the person you used to be and you end up in a big empty hole that used to be your life. Suddenly you moved three times in a five years simply because you didn't had much choice, you crash, you burn and then you realize you're on your own if you ever want to recover from major setbacks which takes years.

Didn't exactly mean to write down my life story here, but that's pretty much what happened in those 9 years. Yet, I never left because of what happened. However there is no other that made me feel better then Mac.

A lot happens in a decade. One of the reasons I'm so close to the friends I have is because we've known each other for a very long time, over a decade. I went through some crap, and they were present for it. Those closest to me know not to make fun of my MacGyver fandom. I was in a BAD place then, and they couldn't help me. The fact MacGyver did is something they have accepted as the reason I got out of it and are just glad I'm okay. If anything, it was just a matter of changing my perspective on life.

Life is hard sometimes. It's like a roller coaster with its ups and down, and a few loops here an there. But, MacGyver is a good reminder to stay positive. I'm surrounded by negativity, and I can very easily get caught up in it if I'm not careful. So I try to remind myself to be thankful for what I do have and remember that things could be much worse.

Learning to live on my own was a big challenge and it's still challenging sometimes. I get lonely and cooped up, and feel like I'm not going anywhere. My friends try to be there for me as much as possible.

In fact, my best friend, who lives in Hawaii, is hoping to come visit me in about a year. That will be exciting!

So, I just stay focused on things I have to look forward to.

Believe me, when I was younger looking at adult life... it was kinda like the premonition scene from Final Destination 3. XD

So, what's everyone else up to? Been a bit quiet around here. O_o

Me: *playing Wii Party*

My mom: *happens to be in her chair nearby, so she's watching me play*

Me: *gets alarmed that the game just put me at a disadvantage* Oh S***!

My mom:

Me: Oh, oops

So this is why she's laughing at me, and I'm just getting stuffed with humble pie today

I've just been really busy lately. I've still been reading the new posts most days; I just haven't taken the time to respond

@Dragondog - I remember dropping the F-bomb in front of my mother a long time ago. It was purely accidental. I was trying to say something else and got my words jumbled up... something I do all the time.

Despite the massive apologies, she refused to talk to me the rest of the day while giving me the disapproving "Mom glare". I say your Mom handled your slip up better than mine did. XD

@MacGyver85 - Not much for me really. I just go Resident Evil 2 remake yesterday in the mail and have been trying to play it, but keep getting pulled away.

But, other than that, just playing games, working and trying to get through winter. lol

With the final How to Train Your Dragon movie coming out, tons of merchandise is being released, so I've been buying a ton

My latest purchase includes a super detailed figure of Toothless. Posed just right, and he looks like he's about to take off on a test flight around my room. Perfection (okay, nerding out over for now)

Unfortunately, I also have to spend what little money I earn on things I actually need

Thanks to a friend, I've been stuck listening to a lot of Nightcore. And another friend has encouraged (actually sort of forced) me to listen to Hamilton

That's alright... I dropped $200 to get the Collector's Edition of Resident Evil 2... mostly because it comes with a Leon Kennedy figure. Leon is like my third favorite fictional character after MacGyver and Sam Winchester. lol

Apparently the internet has been thirsty for Leon lately since the game came out. Doesn't surprise me... they were thirsty for him when RE4 came out. XD

I'm currently flat broke until I get my tax return... which is mostly go to pay for my car insurance and to pay off the smaller debts. Woooooo..... lol

It's interesting how the older you get the more your taste in music changes. Back in the 90's it was all about Savage Garden and Ace of Base. The 2000's was Evanescence and Vanessa Mae. Now... Celldweller and Two Steps from Hell.... and various soundtracks. XD

I have a good memory, and no life JK

Apparently my mom thinks that her desire to downsize, and my desire to hoard my stuff, means that even though I'm an adult now, she can get into my stuff and get rid of it without consulting me first. So we're not really on speaking terms right now

Oof. That's tough I hope things get better quickly.

Mothers have a funny way of irritating their daughters. My mom and I are a lot a like. I see her every time I put on a pair of glasses. lol

My mother liked to use the silent treatment if we had an argument. Both she and I are extremely stubborn, so neither of us would really back down that much. So, she'd give me the "I'm mad at you" glare and not talk to me. I could always tell when she was frustrated because I could hear her in the kitchen lecturing the cabinets.

I miss my Mom though. Despite our differences, she was always my biggest supporter. If I had a problem, she would fight for me. Nobody messed with her kids. She was also extremely playful and musically talented. LOVED MacGyver. According to her, RDA had "nice back pockets". This is probably why my Dad hates MacGyver so much. lolz

She passed away 11 years ago, this upcoming March 31st.

You'd be surprised how much you miss how irritating your mother is when they're gone. Hopefully you and your mom are on talking terms again. If not... just give her a big hug and tell her you love her.

Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

I know what you mean, Dragondog. I haven't spoken my mother over five years now for pretty much the same reason. She was always the one speaking, thinking, deciding and arranging for everyone, whether they agreed or not. All she had to do was consult me even though her decision was already made. I just blame myself for not speaking up. It only fired up the Cold War that had been simmering for years. The worst part is, she doesn't even realise what she did and what she's always been doing, she just blames others for her problems. She can be nice as long things goes her way but if it turns differently, it's always someone else's fault. A lot of people who knows her doesn't want have anything to do with her anymore, including her own family. If you go that far, something is really wrong with that person.

Well, there's two contradicting stories

My mom and I had a talk about it today, and we are on good terms again

(Although I get really emotionally attached to my stuff, so when I get rid of it, I have to know where it's going. So dropping it off at Goodwill is a no. So the fact that she did that without even asking was on my list of worse offenses. But after talking it out, we're good. She apologized for that, and I promised to get rid of some stuff )

In my case, we're way past the point of talking things over. But that's ok, otherwise it would just start all over again, anyway.

That sucks to hear MacGod. I've never had to be like that with family, though I dislike some of my extended family because they're a bit... highfalutin. I've had to cut some of my friends off and never speak to them again. It's really hard actually, to be close to someone and not be able to talk to them anymore.

It's happened multiple times actually. But sometimes, trust gets broken and you have no choice.

@Dragondog - Glad to hear you're on good terms with your Mom again! My Dad did something similar and got rid of a bin that had a bunch of my personal stuff in it from the attic. I was so mad, but not really at him because it was purely accidental. More mad at myself for not getting the bin out of the attic like I was supposed to. lol

Wouldn't be the first time we've fallen out, and probably won't be the last

Actually Jedi, we had been living in denial for years the way things has been going. We lived next to each other instead of together. The bubble had to burst some time and it did. She never took me into account, ever and now she has to carry the consequences.

Yeah, it's been a bit quiet around here. I haven't been posting because I've been dealing with some offline drama, so I haven't been up for talking/posting. Thus is life... lol

It's gonna be a bit ongoing for a while, I think. So, I'll be on and off, but I'm still here.

Edit: I wasn't sure where to put this. It's not really funny, but it's more cute and kinda sad. But damn, the feels... lol
