I started in Tomb Raider III now. I'm at the River Ganges.

I really enjoyed Tomb Raider III in terms of its story and locations however i found the puzzles were often quite tricky.

The first adventure game I had on PS1. But have never finished it before. Last time I played I got into London. But never played any further. I have the walkthrough nearby just in case. I just restarted the game and this time I will finish it. There's a lot of precision jumping involved but I think the difficulty level is pretty decent. I'm looking forward to finally get to the for me new stuff.

So despite my extreme reluctance to buy a Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider title, I actually found Tomb Raider Underworld on sale in a store on Saturday and thought, what the heck, and bought it.

I only had about 30 minutes to play but was rather surprised at how good it was! In fact, i thought it was better than the new Tomb Raider reboot. IMO.

Plays like the original games but has a much more fluid gameplay and is quite a pleasure to control.
I look forward to trying it out since i gotta admit i have not had much time to play lately. biggrin.gif

That's how you should buy games or films or whatever. Just think what the heck. Games actually should be only about gameplay, not the way it looks. Despite you can't please everyone there's always an audience for everything. I still have to finish TRIII, Last Revelation, Chronicles and Legend and Anniversary before I get to Underworld. I don't have Angel of Darkness. Right now, I'm in Area 51 in the third game. I can tell you it's quite a difficult game. I spend at least an hour to an hour and half in almost each level even with the walkthrough nearby. If it takes this long for this game who knows how long it's going to take to finish Last Revelation.

biggrin.gif I told you. Tomb Raider III, although brilliant in story and design is one heck of a difficult game.

Last Revelation is much easier IMO.

The high security compound when I read as difficult and complicated level because of the several entrances to a lot of the same areas, I was going like: aw man. Even with the walkthrough it nearly took me two hours to finish that level. Same was for the kayak level.

It's becoming more and more demanding. The England levels are becoming a real drag. I ended Aldwych by accident. I was under attack and was using the MP5 gun and by backflipping I ended up on a slope ending the level. I don't really mind that much though because apparently there was a secret that required going all the way back to the beginning of the level and coming back the long way too. I'll be glad when I'm out of England though. These are the hardest levels to date. Antartica is probably not much easier though but I really want out of England. Maybe Tomb Raider despite it's deserted level feels is not something for urban levels.

I remember being quite frustrated with TR III. Its as if they tried to fuse elements of the first two games which is all good except for the fact that they made it too darn difficult. I have played worse though. Much more difficult games. And its story is rewarding so it got the getawaywithit card from me. biggrin.gif

You know as a kid, I would've never had the patience to finish this game, even though I did manage to finish TR I & II. The levels are bigger and more complicated that's obvious. I just want to see the cutscene with the helicopter in Antartica again. I have to keep playing, I'm Lud's Gate now, level 14 so I still have six more to go. I've been playing for two weeks now every day.

I'm thinking of replaying Tomb Raider for the Xbox One. I've had the Definitive Edition that I got dirt cheap. I actually played it for free on the Xbox 360, but I may stream it.

I've still been playing Fallout 4 off and on, but really haven't been online much as of late. I've been hella busy myself. I need to finish Resident Evil 4 still, but I'm not feeling it, for some odd reason. I may just need to boot it up.

I have been watching Markiplier play Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location... that game is really depressing and creepy.

I'm debating on picking up Gears of War 4 as well, but may need to hold off on it for another month or so. My hours and pay are currently under review, so I'm kinda waiting to see what's going to happen first.

Don't think, just play. biggrin.gif

In the meantime, I managed to get into Antarctica, I'm at the final country now. I can tell you now, I never want to play the England levels again. The boss levels are actually the easiest and the shortest.

I don't know about Last Revelation yet. I'm looking forward to finish that one but that game is even bigger than TR III.

Hope it all works out Jedi. Gears of War 4 looks incredible but i dont have an Xbox One yet. smile.gif

MacGyverGod, Last Revelation IMO was nowhere near as difficult as TR III but the slight contradiction in the story annoyed me immensely. One minute Von Croy is the mentor, then the enemy, next he's a good guy again?

Aside from that, they did their homework when mapping the Egyptian levels. The graphics alone are amazing. Even for this day and age.

Peter Connelly took over as music composer on this one but i believe he met with Nathan McCree and tried to create a flawless composition in his honor and it certainly did.

Managed to play some more Tomb Raider Underworld on the weekend and got a little further than before. It is a fun game although i have to admit that my heart still lies with the originals.

I also managed to pick up another oldie but it is a goodie! biggrin.gif

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which i played for a good while on Saturday.

I have never really bought games of this nature before but i am thoroughly enjoying this one. Storywise, it is apparently quite short but brilliant (According to the reviewer). But there is enough side missions to keep you busy as well as the multiplayer option. And its quite realistic! At least IMO. biggrin.gif

They also had Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena which i did not buy but am having second thoughts about. Might pick it up later as i rather enjoyed the look of it when i saw a review of that too. (Yes, its my in thing to see reviews of games before buying them) laugh.gif

Right now I'm in the Lost City of Tinnos. This is the third Antarctica level. I'm almost there. This is actually the last major level before the final boss level. Looking at the objective there is a lot of work to do. Lots of kills and I have to find two keys and four Oceanic Masks also known as the four elements of life and have about 90 kills. It's in an underground city below the ice and it just seems very big according to the walkthrough. Last one to go before meeting the final boss.

And it is Red Dead Redemption 2, set for next fall.

OT: I finally finished Tomb Raider III. After 18 years I finally finished it in 19 days. But, dang, that was a hard game and no tips like we have now. Figure it out, they must've figured.

Congrats!

I love the Tomb Raider series, and enjoyed most of TR3, but never made it to the Antartica levels. All the levels in that game were enormous compared to any other game in the series, and I guess I eventually just lost patience.

I completed TR1, 2, 4, and 5.
Never completed Angel of Darkness because the controls were just too annoying.
Completed Legends, Anniversary, Underworld and the Tomb Raider reboot that came out in 2013.

At some point, I intend to get Rise Of The Tomb Raider, but at the moment, I'm playing the Assassin's Creed series (currently on "Brotherhood"... yes, I'm many years behind!)

I spent between an hour and an hour and a half in almost every level. I have all the games on PC as well and I have Angel of Darkness on that one but I'm not sure this computer can run and never heard much good about it but if I ever get the chance to play it on PS2 or something I will. Right now I just play with what I have available. That's actually everything except Angel of Darkness and Rise. Right now I have completed I, II, III and 2013. So Last Revelation is next and than Chronicles, Legend, Anniversary and Underworld. I'll be glad when I get to Legend, I actually do miss the tips we get on PS3.

Well done MacGyverGod! biggrin.gif

It was annoying i know but it was a cool story IMO.

I am playing too many games to focus on just one. One of my personal habits. But i did pick up a copy of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena which also includes an enhanced version of Escape from Butcher Bay. So it's very cool .I am into the whole Riddick scene ATM. biggrin.gif

Reminds of the days I used to do that too as a kid. Playing several games at the same time but I'm past that. I just play one game at a time and finish the main story line, than it goes back on the shelf.

Yup! Looks awesome. I believe it might also feature multiplayer online mode too

On Saturday i got my hands on another game titled Front Mission Evolved

Came out way back in 2009 but FME is a mecha game where you are thrown into battle against other "wanzers".

The game received mixed reviews at the time however i have personally really enjoyed playing it. Always loved the old Battletech games etc. And being in one of these mecha machines is kinda like Pacific Rim all over again. biggrin.gif

If you are into these type of games, this is not the best, but its still quite good fun! Especially when roaming through cities looking for enemy. Combat includes anything between hand to hand combat where these mecha smash each other to bits, to Gatling guns and even missiles.
