Checked out the Castlevania anime on Netflix yesterday. The friend I play Diablo and Starcraft with is a big fan of Castlevania. He used to work a night-shift job, and when he'd get off work (like 2AM), we'd meet up on XBL and play Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. I was awful at it. XD But we both just finished watching the anime, and it was awesome!

I also picked up a bundle for $5 on Steam a week or so ago that had the original Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics. I gave Fallout a go, and it's so different from the current versions. I need to figure out what in the hell I'm doing because I'm not used to the turn-based format of the originals. lol

I've been thinking of pulling out my PS2 for some time. I've been in the mood for some classic Resident Evil, or Spyro. I miss Spyro... lol

I have seen it on Netflix but have yet to actually watch it. Will hopefully do so tonight or tomorrow.

The only problem i have at the moment with playing my old PS2 is getting an analog to digital converter so it can play on my new TV. They are quite pricey and one place that has them for cheaper is out of stock and awaiting more.

Wow, that's odd. I didn't know you had to have a converter for the PS2. I'll have to ask my one friend about it and see if my one TV will need a converter or not for hook up. He's far more tech savvy than I am... XD

I've been playing a bit of Minecraft lately. It's just such an easy game to play when you're bored. My one friend just told me that in the Fall, Minecraft becomes universal so friends can play together on different platforms as long as they have Live.

My custom stronghold I made yesterday... I even had a llama!

I havent had any time to play anything this weekend. Should be getting my converter this Saturday. And yes, i managed to fin one a little cheaper. If you think about the last time you played your PS2 was probably on an old analog TV. Th times are a changing. biggrin.gif

Right now, I'm finally playing Tomb Raider: Last Revelation. It's quite fun and for now fairly easy. TRIII had such humongous levels that most levels took me like an hour and a half to finish. TRLR right seems to be going well. Actually the first four levels were your classic TR-levels until I got the jeep. Yes, there's a jeep and I've been driving it through two other levels now. Reminds me of the jeep level in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. Run the bad guys over and just follow the road. I'm still in the early levels but the game exists out of 35 levels, so I still have a lot to do. But right now I think the game might not be as terrible as I thought all these years. It's easier than TRIII for now. Gameplay is pretty much the same as the previous games only better, smoother and also Lara herself looks better and smoother too. Also the adding of an extra character running around in the trainer levels (Werner Von Croy) and the guide in the first Egyptian level was at the time of the release probably never seen before. Anyway, the game started off great and I think I might enjoy this one. It already feels a bit like Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine with the jeep and The Mummy since all the action takes place in Egypt.

It certainly is the best programmed one of the lot. How are you playing your games? PS1. 2 or 3?

Which Model PS 3 do you have BTW?

The original five games on PS1. Legend, Anniversary, Underworld, TR2013 on PS3. I do have Angel of Darkness on PC but I'm not going to start messing around with installing that. I think I would just watch the playthrough on YouTube than. I don't know which PS3 model I have but I have had it for at least the past 8 years so it's might be old.

I don't know. I do know they're available through PS3 according to Stella's Tomb Raider site. But you have to buy or download them through the PS-store.

The game is going great. They made it now in such a way that you actually return to previous levels during the course of the game. So yes, some levels you play twice but with each time a different reason, to finish another part of the game.

The only problem i had with Last Revelation was the contradiction in story-line with Von Croy. This contradiction leads into Chronicles. The game play itself, graphics, even the music from newbie Peter Connelly was great. And the programming was as good as it got for a Tomb Raider game on the PS1.

Haven't noticed a contradiction yet. I'm still early in the game.

I made some great progress in Tomb Raider though. I just finished Desert Railroad. A level set on a moving train, that's a first for Tomb Raider and now I made it into Alexandria.

And still there. I'm beginning to understand these overlapping levels. Technically they're like most levels in the previous game. There is one central point and there are several corridors and hallways leading to everywhere but in the end you'll always end up back on the central point. Only this time everything leads to another level instead but you'll end up back in the main level. It's a little confusing, but that's the whole setup.

After watching a tutorial, i managed to open my PS2 and do a thorough clean of the system including the lens. It seems to be working even better than ever and tested it with an old PS1 game (Tomb Raider Chronicles) which plays perfectly! Now of course, i just need a new controller seeing as the one i have seems to be faulty. biggrin.gif And of course a PS1 memory card. Mine seems to be missing. So im almost there.

In other news, i managed to install Mass Effect Andromeda and play a few minutes just till i got to Habitat 7 (The new proposed human planet) I really love the feel the of the game and the story too. I can however see why so many were frustrated with the facial features and movements of the mouths. I haven't run the update yet so i hope they fix some of the issues. After playing a male character for most of m game time except for Tomb Raider, i decided to play Sara Ryder.

I made it out of the Lost Library. That was one huge level. It took me two or three days.

The updates have fixed a lot of the facial animations, and apparently they're going to continue to tweak it.

I haven't played Andromeda lately, and I've been kinda getting the itch to play it. I actually like Sara Ryder quit a bit, not as much as female Shepard though. I still need to max out my N7 armor for Andromeda. lol

I haven't played much of the original Tomb Raider series, though my brother in law is a big fan. I've improved, somewhat, in gameplay, so I wonder if I can actually play the original games now? lol I do remember liking the look of The Angel of Darkness, but I heard it wasn't very good... or something like that.

So, after much convincing and offers of helping, a couple of my friends have got me downloading Final Fantasy 14... which I just found out is cross platform. Minecraft, another favorite, is going to be cross platform sometime in the Fall.

My one guy friend is all excited because he's been trying to get me into Final Fantasy for years.

Another group of friends got me the game Rust for PC. My laptop didn't like it though... XD

I also heard AoD is like the weakest in the game, mostly set in cities and an extra playable character. It's the only game I can't play. Heard there were lots of bugs in it too and didn't feel like a Tomb Raider. But to each his own. I'm currently still in Cairo doing the motorcycle levels and maybe I'm making it harder as it but the overlapping levels can be confusing. You have to do each of them twice.

Oh yes. The infamous Angel of Darkness. Story wise, it is a continuation of the story from Last Revelation but the game is hugely flawed. The control system is just terrible! Couldn't even play it properly. It was more techy than adventure-y and i think a lot of people felt it just lacked the originals charm. I didn't mind the look of it but it was just unplayable. That is the game that ended Eidos & Core Design's relationship and why it moved to Crystal Dynamics.

Rather sad because they could have used Nathan McCree's music and even Lara's original voice over but with the ended contracts, nothing binded them to do so.

Got myself pretty stuck in Last Revelation. I'm in the Citadel's Gate now, out of health packs, out of health and pesky locusts are trying to eat me. I can't outrun them and I have to pass a dragon too. It was on my way to end the level. So I figured to go back to where I skipped a secret, unfortunately there are also locusts there pecking at me. Now I think the best way to get out of there is using a level skip. I think I'll only miss a clip and another pick up but there's no way out there anymore with only 1% of health. And I've been playing for the past three weeks and I can't start from the beginning of the level anymore since it's not an option in this game. doh.gif

So I did a level skip and I end up in the Citadel, skipping levels 24 & 25. I was 23 levels in of the 35. Well too can play this game. I think I'll start over use all the cheats, do level skips until I'm back in the Citadel's Gate and save during the skips. I think I will lose my original game by this, but so be it. Desperate times requieres desperate measures, but I am not going to replay that whole game. That'll teach it to mess with me. nasty.gif

Started my trial for Final Fantasy 14, though using the keyboard is somewhat awkward since I'm used to a controller.

I also gave Rust a go last night, and got to hang out with some of my other friends that I never get to hang out with that much. We had a blast! Though Rust doesn't run well on my laptop. It's got somewhat of a Fallout feel to it... but currently there isn't any lore.

I also got back into Sims 4... I've forgotten how addicting that game is. I'm hoping to finish up the Houseboat, which has sat unfinished for some time. I DID, however, make the houseboat in Minecraft, but it didn't really turn out that well. I'll get a video of it next time I'm on Minecraft.
