Still playing TR: Chronicles but I'm finishing it up. I'm in the last three levels now. It's been far easier then TR III and IV, yet Ireland was more challenging.

Are you enjoying its story?

It's like Hind-Sight has been made into a game. It could've been worse for sure. I like it when a game is not too difficult, except these last few levels has been rather challenging. Right now, I need to escape with the iris and I have no guns. The headset visor is nice and the occasional communication is nice too. Back then I think it was new to have the characters communicate during the game.

"It's a shooting gallery, MacGyver, and we have no guns!" Sorry, I couldn't resist!

It was. And I had no apple or cabbage. There were guards in the building and machine guns with motion detectors. So at some points in the level you had to walk instead of running. And then the most unfortunate thing happened. At the end of the level where I got my rifle back, I made a save, took a wrong turn and died but when I reloaded the game it froze over everytime. Apparently there's bug in the game on that point. I had no choice but to restart the whole game. Thank God for cheat codes. In the final level you also have to be careful since there are at least 3-4 bugs in the game, so watch out where you save.

Oh no!!! I hate it when games have those kinds of bugs!

Over 8 hours of playing time, gone and I was hoping to finish the game in less then 10.

Despite the bug warnings, I managed to finish Chronicles without many other problems. Yet it was a little over 10 hours now.

I have started to play the Ultima games on PC. Starting with Ultima 1 of course and slowly making my way to the bottom of the list. (There are like 12 games in the series)


This was the first open world video game ever released and quite literally made history. Although its graphics are outdated this is still quite an in-depth game and carries a lot of volume.

I forget if I mentioned this yet, but I got the original two Fallout games some time ago. They were dirt cheap on Steam. The original games are more turn-based RPG's than the later games, which are open world, action RPG's. I'm not that big of a fan of turn-based RPG's. The mechanics are a bit confusing in comparison to the more straight forward newer incarnations.

HOWEVER, I'm determined to figure it out. Haven't found Killian Darkwater yet. I actually got randomly dumped in an area with like... six radscorpions.

For those who don't know, RDA voiced and had his likeness used for Killian. RDA would be an awesome voice actor if he decided to get into it.

I think i have the first 2 Fallout games. I usually use GOG.com as opposed to Steam because i hate the idea of having to remain active on the Steam site in order to play my games. With GOG.com you can buy them legally, download them and play them without having to sign into anything.

Gog is interesting indeed. You can find everything there.

I agree. Steam is also great, dont get me wrong. But with GOG, you can remain offline without the need for a constant connection.

This was launched yesterday. Anyone played it yet?

After reading the rave reviews i decided to bite and get Far Cry 5. Being completely new to the series, I was quite surprised at how easy it was to get into it. Mostly due to the fact that each one takes place in a completely new environment with a different story with different characters. Kind of like Final Fantasy.

This one is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana, where a dangerous preacher named Joseph Seed creates a cult of followers who believe the world is plagued by sinners and they are the cure. His followers soon grow by the numbers and start to take over. Enter you. A character in a task force that tries to overthrow this group by working with resistance fighters to liberate the land again and restore freedom to its people.

Story-wise, this is not one that generally appeals to me but i was drawn into it by its realism, there are no aliens or futuristic cyborgs here.

Graphics are incredible and you can customize your character, craft weapons, gather items, creatively infiltrate bases and even get what they refer to as guns for hire as well as fangs for hire such as animals that can assist you in taking out the bad guys. Some take time to train too. This reminded me a little of Fallout 4 & Call of Duty: Ghosts where you get your dog.

There are so many things to do in the game too. If you want to give the quest a break, you can. You can even go fishing and leave it all behind.

I have been completely hooked on playing this and have already cleared out the first region / Island. Game play wise this is an awesome game and comes highly recommended!

Has anyone heard of the PS4 game Home Free? It sounds completely awesome, but seems to have hit a roadblock. I don't have a PS4, but if it ever does finally get released, I'll try to get one just 'cause this game sounds really cool!

I actually just heard of it myself. All I know is it's a game about a stray dog that needs to figure out how to survive. What he does and how he goes about it is completely up to you.

I hear it's even got a "random city generator" which keeps the whole in-game world a mystery. Every time you start a new game, you have to figure out the rhythm of the city all over again.

I guess it is still in production, so hopefully they'll still get it out.

Currently playing Heavy Rain.

Ethan Mars is a broken man after the loss of his son Jason. His wife left him and they share custody over their other son Shaun. Meanwhile a mysterious serial killer called the Origami killer is terrorizing the city. His victims are mostly boys between the 11-13 range of age. One moment at the playground Ethan's son is kidnapped. The kidnapper has several trials set out for him he must fulfill to find his son who is apparently being held underneath a drain that is filling with rain water. The city is going through heavy rain fall (hence the name). Norman Jayden from the FBI and Scott Shelby, a private investigator are trying to find the killer. While Shelby is being helped by Lauren Winter, a mother who lost her son to the Origami killer, Ethan Mars gets unexpected help from Madison Paige, a reporter in the city.

Right now, I'm playing on Shelby's scenario and with his partner, Lauren Winter I am looking for a man named... John Sheppard.

You get to play Ethan, Madison, Shelby and Jayden in this game. Decisions have to be made and it will influence your game. Apparently there are 23 different endings to the game and all characters can die at some point in the game if you're not fast enough with the buttons and there for it can alter the course of the game. This was a very succesful game when it was released just as it's predecessor: Fahrenheit Indigo Prophecy and the later game Beyond Two Souls. In a few months, Detroit: Become Human will be released. These games plays as interactive movies (just like those old PC-games from the late 90's with real actors: Phantasmagoria, Black Dahlia, X-Files). You can interact with objects, even do the most mundane stuff like going to the bathroom, flush it and wash your hands as taking a shower and making an omelet. What also makes these games very interesting is that these games are based on emotions. It's a very tragic story but it plays like a thriller. Heavy Rain might remind us of the movie Se7en. At least it does to me. It's raining through almost the entire game, there is this cat and mouse thing between a killer and the police and the darker tones in the music reminds me of Howard Shore's scores.

To be fair, this trailer was made when he first started the production of this game. The graphics have improved since then, though they're still similar to this.

Games for the younger generation just don't have as great of graphics as the games you usually play, if you don't mind me pointing out.

And finished Heavy Rain. That's odd, I've only been playing for 4 days. Must be a record.

Well Dragondog, I think it looks cute. Game like that are usually made in a non-realistic vector graphics approach as they appeal to the younger generation as you so eloquently put it.

I am still busy with Far Cry 5 which is unbelievably awesome and Call of Duty Ghosts which is equally awesome.

I do also want to start with the Assassins Creed games but not sure where to start. I hear there is a lot of backwards and forths as well as which are deemed better stories. Anyone have any idea?

I played every day for 2-2,5 hours. Which is a lot for me. Usually if I play 1,5 hour it's a lot. In case of Heavy Rain it's very difficult to turn it off because you're in for the ride. The game is actually not that hard either. Fun to play, and each time it can be very different.

Well, this was just announced... and it comes out on the Xbox One and PS4. I'm totally getting it....

Has anyone else played Avatar Maker: Dogs? I just got it today after my niece showed it to me last night. It could be a bit easier to use the color options, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Funny thing is, I've been looking all over for an app like this, but couldn't find one, then my niece just pulls this up on her tablet.

Jedi: Yes! I saw it last night too. No doubt to the success of Crash Bandicoot which also makes its way to Xbox this July, they decided to go with Spyro and i immediately thought of you.

Tomb Raider looks impressive but I feel they have shifted from what the original concept used to be and seems foreign to me. Anybody else feeling that?

Anyone have any advice on the Assassins Creed comment i posted before?

I've only played the first Assassin's Creed and part of the second one. The original game was pretty fun, but I didn't care much for the second game and I had little interest for the rest of the series. Dunno why... O_o

I liked the first one because Altair was awesome. I never cared much for Ezio, but I know a lot of people liked that second one. My advice would be to start with the first one and go from there.

Edit: I would love to see Jak & Daxter come to the Xbox One, actually. I believe they did an HD version for the PS3, but that was pretty much the end of it.

I think that already happened in 2013. To me it makes no difference, though I haven't played Rise yet. Just as with the Mac's reboot the same rules apply: don't expect it to be the same or you'll be disappointed. I thought I read somewhere the next game will round up this trilogy and she will become the dual pistoled Tomb Raider. Everybody loved the original Lara: the classy, sassy, brainy and sexy Lara. The Lara who did what she wanted and scoffed at others if they looked down upon her.

Do you have the feeling they shift even more away from the concept despite them trying to get closer to it? Fans want their favorite heroin in isolated areas and big tombs and as far as I've heared they've done that.
