My sister and I rented Life (2017) with Ryan Reynolds. It was... not bad. Definitely had a clear "don't piss off unknown lifeforms because it's probably smarter than you" type of message. The crew was, sadly, dumb as posts... too much gawking, not enough competent action. Where's Sigourney Weaver when you need her?

I give this discount Alien a 7/10...

We saw Despicable Me 3. Great 80's references. Funny movie but I'm thinking it should probably be the end of the line, IMO. Still, a fun time😀

We personally loved it. Something i notice about the DM movies is that you have to see them more than once to fully grasp all the jokes and tidbits. But I would give this movie 3 & a half stars.

I wont get into too much detail with the Fate of the Furious either since MacGyverGod gave his full reviews of the entire series which was great. But I personally felt the series has lost its direction. In the beginning it was all about the cars. Now its all 007. It is not a bad movie to watch and certainly breaks the even numbered curse in my books but still feels a little dry. And WAAAAYYYY over the top. I give F8 3 stars.

Then finally we got around to watching..

Alien Covenant.

Taking place about 10 years after the events of Prometheus, Covenant tells the the story of the crew of the Covenant ship set for a course to a new home world to start colonizing the planet with an approximate crew of 2000 people in stasis. And all is good and well till a problem on the ship awakens some of the crew and they inadvertently pick up a signal from a nearby planet which forces them to investigate. Their discovery at first seems like an uncharted paradise till 2 crew members start to suffer from strange side affects leading to something terrifying.

This feels like a well made movie and has all the touches of the previous movies to add to it. There is some Alien in this movie, Some Prometheus, Even Aliens and definitely a bit of Alien 3. Sadly though despite the story, the tense nature of this series is sorely lacking. And if you thought characters couldn't get any dumber, you're in for an unfortunate surprise.

It is a little sad that Scott was forced into this direction because i wanted to see more of Prometheus in terms of the discovery story but fans of the series wanted more Xenomorphs and less Engineers. Its a good addition to the Alien series but its not a great one. New composer Jed Kurzel uses a lot of themes from the previous series but offers little in terms of new additions.

I give Alien Covenant 3 stars.

Are you kidding me? FF finally got interesting. Fast 4 had that right balance between racing and action. Before it was too much racing. I only like the first now because of Paul untimely death but it also showed me the relationship among the family more on how that the start is of everything. Fast Five finally got into the direction, I liked but that's just a matter of taste, I guess.

Covenant wasn't that great but the production had it's share of difficulties, including indeed the fact the fans wanted more Alien when Scott still wanted to go the Prometheus way. Scott can make some intense and bloody scenes but I think the direction they forced him in hurted the story too much. So, I don't think it's entirely his fault. Yet, I recently hurt a lot of people are angry because he shutdown Neill Blomkamp's alien movie that was planned. Blomkamp's Elysium didn't convince me but one of his latest shorts Firebase, looks really awesome.

Last movie, I've seen: Piranha 3DD. Yes it is as bad as it sounds. I was always a bit confused by this movie, thinking it was some sort of extended cut of Piranha 3D from 2010 but there were different actors with small parts by Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames and David Hasselhoff. Yet different movie set a year after the events of previous movie and it takes place in a waterpark. They just upped the nudity and toned down the gore unfortunately. Because that's where the fun lied with the last film. To make an as gory as possible movie that would cause major laughter and they succeeded in that. Still a low level movie but that was the whole point. This time it was low level because they couldn't come up with any better. I'd say ignore it.

Went to a Planet of the Apes marathon last night at the movies. They showed Rise and Dawn before releasing War for the Planet of the Apes. Each movie became better and it was worth it.

Nice! I still havent seen Dawn.

Rise was okay for me but i have to admit that i was a fan of the original series. Still have my complete collection of all of them except for Dawn & war of course. So i guess its now incomplete.

Yeah, well if I buy it I want them all on Blu-ray. There has been a complete box but it's only on regular dvd available here just like so many others which I think is a bit weird. And lately I want everything passed 2010 rather on Blu-ray just as I want the grander epic movies from earlier on it. But for some reason they're just no longer available. I hope the store is not going out of business as pretty much else in town because it's the only place that usually has the good stuff. Anyway, I've noticed that the release of Logan brought back every other X-Men movie so maybe when War is released the others will follow and hopefully the original ones too.

Seen last night. Darkman 2: The Return of Durant. The first one was directed by Sam Raimi and the director used pretty much the same style for the second movie. It started off great but got very mediocre in the end. A forgotten typical 90's superhero movie. Arnold Vosloo has taken over the lead of Liam Neeson, (they even reshot the story of the first movie with Vosloo onscreen) Dr. Westlake, a man who was on the brink of finding a new technique on skin transplant. Robert Durant and his men attack him in his lab and burns his hands and face causing Westlake to go underground (becomes Darkman) and to keep working on the skin transplant that for some reason don't last longer than 99 minutes. It turns out that Durant has survived his confrontation with Darkman in the first movie and now he returns setting his sight on a building owned by David Brinkman and tries to make him to sell it. Brinkman refuses and begins a brief partnership with Westlake to continue his research on skin transplant. After more attempts Brinkman gets killed by Durant and they decide to go after his sister Laurie (Renée O' Connor, before the Xena era) to get the buiding in hands and it's up to Darkman to save her. This movie was apparently directed after Darkman III but became the first straight-to-video movie released by Universal. Not a great movie but Larry Drake (Durant) seems to enjoy himself as the bad guy and I just think it's awesome to see Renée O' Connor before her Xena days. Not a great film but not terrible either.

Dead or Alive 1. A Japanese movie, I thought was going to be cool. It started off great, with stuff that would never get past the MPAA in Hollywood. But the movie decided to go the slow way to close down with such an overblown final moment that it doesn't make sense at all. When it makes sense that it doesn't make sense, I usually like it but I expected something else of Takashi Miike, director of Ichi The Killer. This was missed oppertunity to make an ultra-violent and bizarre movie. I also have the sequel but I'm not really enthusiastic anymore.

Versus. Another Japanese movie and more what I was looking for with Dead Or Alive 1. The movie starts in the late 15th or early 16th century. One of the characters do say 500 years passed in the present times. Anyway the movie starts in old times where a Japanese man is fighting off The Man and his army of... men because of a girl. None of the characters actually have names. The man puts up a great fight but loses in the end. Flashforward of 500 years. In present times, two prisoners, one of them called Prisoner KSC2-303, the reincarnation of the Japanese man in the first scene are running through a forrest from the police and run into a gang that are holding the reincarnated girl hostage but no one seems to know why or what exactly is going on so they start a confrontation and a few of them end up dead but not for long. It turns out the forest is functioning as a portal to another side. The movie explains in the beginning that 666 portals exists throughout the world, mostly invisible to mankind. The forest is the 444th portal known as the Forest of Ressurection. If you die there you come back as a zombie but with a soul and guns fully loaded. It turns out the prisoner is protecting the girl as he has been doing for centuries and has to fight off The Man and his army over and over again. That's pretty much the basic story. This is like Evil Dead meets Street Fighter meets The Matrix. Thin storyline and mostly martial-arts and shoot-outs with plenty of bloodshed and a beautiful Japanese girl, I might add.

Well you are right about that star. Jason Scott Lee was far superior playing Bruce.

Isnt Dead or Alive a video game or is that unrelated?

I saw Unforgettable.

Trying to deal with her ended marriage, Tessa hears news of her ex-husbands new partner (Julia) who he is now happily engaged to but her jealousy comes between the new couple and she soon starts to tear them apart with no care to consequence. The movie stars Katherine Heigl & Rosario Dawson.

This was just another movie that has been done before a dozen times with not much added to originality or tension. I give it 2 stars.

Then after not watching it for ages i decided to see Tremors.

Starring Kevin Bacon & Fred Ward as repairmen in the small town of Perfection (Anything but!) who discover strange deaths occurring in the town. But as time goes by they soon realise the town is ravaged by giant worms hungry for human flesh.

Tremors came out in 1990 and has since been a successful franchise among cult followers. I think they are on number 5 at the moment which came out in 2015. Its a fun cheese filled horror yarn that has enough humor and scares to keep you mildly entertained. 3 stars.

Dead or Alive is indeed a videogame that has been adapted into a movie too but it's totally unrelated.

I remember Tremors too. Kevin Bacon with a season 5 Mac-hairstyle and a young Ariana Richards who went on to star in Jurassic Park. A guilty pleasure movie as I recall.

And talking about guilty pleasures, I saw Jaws: The Revenge, last night. Recorded from television. While I remember Jaws 3-D as terrible oddly enough Jaws: The Revenge who scores even worse on IMDB (only 2,9) I thought was better. With the events of the third film ignored, the movie starts back in Amity, the island of the first two movies around Christmas time. Chief Brody has passed away now due to a heart attack and his youngest son Sean is now a deputy while the oldest son Michael is studying marine biology in the Bahamas. Fate struck the Brodies again when Sean is killed by a shark. Their mother Ellen is convinced the shark came especially for him and follows them around. Michael returns to the island with his wife and daughter to comfort his mother and tells her to take some time off and spend the holidays in the Bahamas. There she meets Hoagie (Michael Caine), the pilot taking them to Bahamas and tries to get over Sean's death. Yet her fear becomes reality as the shark has followed them all the way to the Bahamas. When the shark nearly kills her grandchild she decides to go after the shark followed by Michael, Hoagie and their best friend Jake (Mario Van Peebles) in order to get rid of the shark for once and for all.

Though maybe not the best movie ever and actually one of the biggest flops, I kinda of enjoyed this movie. Despite maybe a low bodycount of two. And in the uncut American version three. Which was the version I saw. And I really like the actor who portrayed Michael (Lance Guest). This tall bearded guy. He was awesome but I also felt more connection to the first two movies for some reason. The nod to Roy Scheider perhaps or was it that scene in which Michael's daughter Thea starts imitating him? And talking about the girl who played Thea, Judith Barsi was apparently killed by her father at the age of 10. She also voiced Ducky in the first Land Before Time and wanted to do more voice work. Lance Guest attended her funeral and was a pall bearer. Not exactly a high note to end with but I was a little shocked when I read it.

Anway the movie the movie was not bad but not great either, I'd give it two stars but two well deserved stars. Changing the scenery from Amity to the Bahamas was nice, (well actually Hawaii and the real reason why Michael Caine got on board). Despite the low bodycount the shark does get a nice amount of screentime where you can see it in all it's glory. If you have like 90 minutes to spare, might as well use it to watch this movie.

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. The second Deuce Bigalow movie about a gigolo who travels to Amsterdam to proof the innocence of his best friend in a series of gigolo murders.

Shake Hands With Danger (1980)

This is more like a short film about construction workers safety when they are maintenancing those big vehicles and equipments.
Those accidents what they are illustrating are of course staged, but some those bad ones looked real that they made my face little grimace.

Sadly I can actually see this short being "Riffed" by the guys at Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Cast Away. I think we all know what this one is about. Tom Hanks ends up on an island after a plane crash and has to learn how to survive and is being put to the test physically, mentally and emotionally. There is not much else you can say about this movie since most part of this movie is simply Tom Hanks on a island. Still when it comes to survival nothing special happened, it was all basic stuff. During the movie I figured this might be a great MacGyver film as well. Mac survives a plane crash and has to improvise a way out of there... Maybe not such an original story after all but I think something fun can come out of it. Cast Away was good, 3 stars.

My son would love this movie....with him, the bigger the better! This is the kid that wants to EDC a Swiss Champ XAVT

I bought the Lethal Weapon movies on Blu-Ray. I saw the box at a 50% discount. So only 10,00 euro for 4 movies. Better quality in picture and sound. The gunshots and explosions are amazing. Feels like getting shot and blown away with the right amount of force. The desert scene in the first movie is very clear with the blue sky and the yellow sand. I've only seen the first movie so far but it's a classic of course. Great extra's too. There is like an half an hour of deleted and some extended scenes. This movie would've lasted like almost 2,5 hours originally. Interesting enough there were still two scenes missing in the deleted scenes: an alternate introduction to Mel Gibson's character sitting a bar taking out two guys who tried to mug him with his bare hands and the bartender telling him to stay away and the original ending with the partnership between Riggs and Murtaugh ending and Riggs driving away but I guess they choose the current ending in case of sequels. The movie also features commentary by Richard Donner. I'll be enjoying myself the next couple of days with these movies again.

Cool. Maybe that might be on the bonus disc as well. Richard Donner also pointed out that stuntman in the commentary and commended him for his work. Just as everything else in the movie. They really had a great time making it.

Lethal Weapon 2. A great sequel with more touches of comedy than the first thanks to Joe Pesci but still with plenty of serious and dark moments though Riggs is no longer suicidal. I think it's equally balanced this time. But I've got to say I did not notice much Blu-Ray quality this time. I really noticed the differences in the first movie in picture and sound quality. I can still try to check it out with a higher volume but picture quality wasn't much better from normal dvd in my opinion. But the movie was good no doubt. I think the movie has one of the most spectacular scenes the franchise when Riggs takes out the stilt house with his pick-up truck. Also Lethal Weapon 2 has an interesting story. Just as the first movie this was written by Shane Black but considered to be way too dark, bloody and violent and they made a lot of changes into what it is now. Originally there were torture scenes intended for Riggs and one female police officer played by Jenette Goldstein. She would've been tortured to death and Riggs would'be tortured a lot worse than in the first movie. Also the ending would've taking place in the hills after the destruction of the house instead of on a ship. Just as in the first movie, originally Gary Busey would've taken out a helicopter that crashes against the Hollywood sign. Also one of my favorite characters is in this movie: Rika played by the beautiful Patsy Kensit. The scenes that she is in are very good and she is beautiful to look at. I also like Riggs taking out the two guys who tried to drown him so brutally. The first two Lethal Weapons are quite dark but the second is not as dark as the first. Lethal Weapon 2 is a worthy sequel and reaches a level most sequels barely get to. One more thing: this movie features a lot of duct tape too.

Dunkirk. Nolan's war movie, I have been waiting for over a year. His shortest film in a long time and as to expect Nolan has his unique way of story telling, as he does so again. So it's a different experience definitely in one of my favorite genres. It's not as controversial as Schindler's List or Der Untergang at all but great. I think you need to see it for yourself. Not a bad movie but I think you have to like Nolan's style of storytelling to fully appreciate it.

Lethal Weapon 3. Still watched it after I came back from Dunkirk. LW3 is I think considered as the most fun out of the four movies. Rene Russo joins the cast as Lorna and Joe Pesci returns as Leo Getz. As a kid I liked this one the most. This is like the least bloody of them all and almost all major action pieces are set during the day even though there are more fights in it. The one with Riggs and Lorna when Riggs befriends a dog and later drive off with a truck full of guns is one of my favorite scenes. And even though it might be just coincidence here, LW3 is actually like the movie version of the MacGyver episode Gunz 'N Boyz. The similarities in the script are so obvious. A former cop deals in guns and sells them to gangs. You might also say it's a bit the movie version of The Gun as well. Considering guns are falling into hands of 15-year old teenagers and not just hand guns but machine pistols and it also explains the procedure of guns being confiscated for destruction. Richard Donner also has the habit of placing hidden messages in the movies. One of them was about gun control in the second movie. A sticker about gun control, duct tape, the third movie is like the movie version of Gunz 'N Boyz, there was an action scene set during a hockey game, Riggs owns an Swiss Army Knife (in a bomb disarming scene), Alan Scarfe (Major Krik) stars as Herman Walters chief of Internal Affairs and MacGyver composer William Ross was the orchestrator of the movie. I often wondered if the subway shootout score was not partly done by Ross due the percussion sound similar heard in High Control or the clip of Passages in Hind-Sight. But just as with the previous movies the score is done by Michael Kamen (may he rest in peace), David Sanborn and Eric Clapton. If MacGyver was a movie it would be Lethal Weapon 3 with MacGyver as a (smarter) Riggs, Pete (or maybe Jack) as Murtaugh and Nikki as Lorna and Minton as Jack Travis. Another worthy sequel.

I got around to watching the Mummy (2017).

Set aside Boris Karloff & Arnold Vosloo, The Mummy is all about the monster. That's what its always been about. And had a twist of strange fortune overcome this movie it might have done better with Cruise himself playing the formidable lead.

Although this version of the movie was attractive and moved at a good pace, the main villain seemed less frightening than the 1932 mummy or even the 1999 mummy. And if the creature isn't frightening, then you have taken the main element away.

Nick Morton (Cruise) is a grave robber to put it mildly who inadvertently discovers an ancient tomb buried beneath the ground and soon unleashes a cursed princess in the form of the new mummy. As with Marvel, Universal wanted to create a shared universe of monster movies in their "Dark Universe" series. The first was supposed to be Dracula Untold which failed to meet expectations at the box office and was then handed over to this movie to be the first. But this too has become a box office disappointment.

It's not a bad movie to watch but there is little thrill and even less scare when it comes to the main purpose of this movies underlining character and that, i believe, is where it failed.

I give it 2 & a half stars.

It wasn't that bad but an action sequence more would't have hurt. That's why the 1999 movie is so much fun.

And lastly of course Lethal Weapon 4. This was the only Lethal Weapon movie I saw at theatres. Summer of '98. I was eleven, nearly twelve years old at time and this was like one of the last old school R-rated action movies that has spawned since the first one. My brother and I were so excited that summer. It was like: finally. This was like one of the only action movies we were allowed to see in those years and probably because it was one of the most popular ones... maybe with Die Hard as only competition.

Anyway I remember we taped the first Lethal Weapon from television and my brother showed me the scene with Riggs in the beginning at the Christmas tree parking lot explaining what drugs was and he also showed me the moment in which both Riggs and Murtaugh shoot Joshua together. Short time later, during Christmas I remember my brother got Lethal Weapon 2&3 on VHS as a Christmas gift. That's actually how I got to know the Lethal Weapon movies. And in the years that followed I enjoyed mostly Lethal Weapon 2&3. I wasn't allowed to see the first one because of the torture scene. But in the end one time, I did see it secretly and I never understood what the problem was in that scene. Even at the age of 9 or 10.

And than Lethal Weapon 4 came along that summer. My first real action movie on the big screen. I was so blown away by it: the shoot-outs, the fist fights, the explosions. At that time I thought it was like the best movie I had ever seen. I think all of us who saw it was impressed with Jet Li's fighting skills and probably said he would follow up Bruce Lee. He just kicked Riggs' and Murtaugh's asses, twice. The final fight I saw at the theatre, I just couldn't sit still anymore. The fight was set during a dark storm night in the L.A. harbor. There was rain, thunder, lightning and it was Riggs and Murtaugh having to fight together to defeat Jet Li. The perfect 2 against 1 fight scene I have ever seen... and than it got bloody. Boy, did it get bloody. Mel Gibson's screams of pain and agression and than when it seems Jet Li is about to kill Riggs, Murtaugh helps his buddy out, music kicks in, lightning flashes, thunder crashes, all three of them bleeding and they keep fighting until the right one is dead. Imagine the impact of that scene on a 11-year-old in the theatre. It never got topped again.

So in conclusion I must say, it's very hard to pick a favorite. On the bonus disc there were documentaries on how Lethal Weapon came to be, how they expanded and what the legacy was. There was a conversation with Richard Donner, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover and interviews with Rene Russo and Chris Rock and also with screenwriter Shane Black and other crewmembers. I think it was Donner who pointed out that there are not that many franchises who have such continuity as Lethal Weapon since almost all actors return for each installment and every movie is directed by the same person and they're all rated R.

Now back to favorites. I always had them ordered like 2, 4, 1 and 3. But they're almost all equally good. I think 2 and 4 are equal because they have like the right balance between dark action and comedy. I really missed some dark moments in the third movie and I actually mean having action scenes during the night. 4 sort of makes up for that with the shoot-out on the ship in the beginning and the fight at the end. The first one is the darkest movie without question and that's what makes it so good. While the others are so good because they're funnier. I am thinking of switching 1 and 2 and make them in order of 1, 4, 2 and 3.

In scoring I would go as follows.

Lethal Weapon 1. 5 stars. The darker tone and serious mood is what I often look for in movies like this than comedy.
Lethal Weapon 2. 4,5 stars. Comedy creeps in but it is very good in keeping the darker tone.
Lethal Weapon 3. 3,5 stars. Comedy takes almost completely over, while the only problem I have with this movie is that nearly all the action takes place during the day. Despite good scoring and setting the whole place on fire, the final fight is actually bit of a let down. More like pulling and pushing and grabbing instead of really choreographed fighting as in the first one.
Lethal Weapon 4. 4 stars. While this movie almost feels family-oriented, the final fight makes up for a lot of things. Murtaugh finally gets into a few fight scenes of his own (even though he had one in LW2). In the end it's two against one. Like it's coming full circle. I think it's also because of that, Riggs and Murtaugh having to team up to take down one guy, a martial artist during a thunderstorm is what makes the scene darker again.

I think that would be about it. Still like to point out Al Leong as Endo in the first movie who had a small part in Murderers' Sky and George Kee Cheung, Dana Lee, François Chau and the gas attendant from Birthday in Lethal Weapon. All actors who had roles in MacGyver.

Unleashed. After Lethal Weapon 4, I was in the mood for more Jet Li. Unleashed was one of those movie that was released in an Expendables box. After the first movie the box was brought out that contained films from the Expendables actors. This is one of two I was able to buy seperately, the other one being Nighthawks.

Unleashed, a movie set in England starring Jet Li, Morgan Freeman, Bob Hoskins and Kerry Condon written by Luc Besson. Jet Li plays Danny The Dog, raised by Bart (Hoskins) since childhood to become a dog enforcer. Treated like a dog, wearing a collar and living in a cage trained to become a great fighting machine to rough up Bart's clients who owes him and his men money. Each time to collar comes off Danny is 'unleashed' and beats up everyone in his way. In one of those fights he is noticed by Wyeth, who invites Bart to underground fighting. Bart sees this as an opportunity to make money and takes Danny there. In a brief fight Danny easily wins but slowly his realization kicks in that there is more to life than what he believes due to a fact that he discovered a piano when waiting for the signal to become unleashed on a previous assignment and that he met Sam (Morgan Freeman) who is blind and thought him a few things on piano's. When Bart asks what he wants after collecting the money on the fight, Danny answers a piano. When things get verbal in the car, their car is ambushed by the guys of their last collecting assignment and are left for dead. However Danny manages to stumble out of the car and is left on his own unable to take care of himself. He returns to the place where he met Sam and loses consciousness there. Sam takes Danny to his home and takes care of him there. Danny meets his Sam's stepdaughter Victoria who treats him with kindness he never knew and learns to have a peace of mind through music. Sam and Victoria teaches him everything he never knew from eating with a spoon, learns him to cook and enjoy the normal things a family does in life, going on little trips and the meaning of a kiss. Yet one day, he bumps into one of Bart's henchmen who brings him back and his life seems to become again what it once was, only now he starts to dig in his past and tries to get to the truth of his life.

An interesting smalltime action film done with the right set of tools. Hardcore action combined with heart and soul. 3 well deserved stars.

Wrong Bet aka Lionheart. Terrible B-movie, I wasted my money on. I remembered seeing that one as a 12 year old and thought it was great. Sometimes it's so obvious punches don't connect. Terrible acting, terrible fight scenes.

Revenge of the Nerds. Started off pretty great but I sort of got distracted at some point in the movie and didn't got back in, while actually this is more like an original version of the movie Old School. Maybe that was just it, the similarity with Old School. A fraternity existing of nerds have to partake into a bunch of tests during their college competitions in order to get the recognition they deserve. Before it gets that far, the nerds were literally thrown out of their dorms after the jocks burned down theirs and the nerds were forced to stay in the gym. They decide to take revenge on the jocks girlfriends by placing camera's in their dorms. A typical 80's teen comedy in style of Old School and American Pie. I expected something at the level of Police Academy. And speaking of that there was indeed an actor of the Police Academy movies in it (Brian Tochi).

Fight Club. A great movie by David Fincher with Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter. Norton is the Narrator who meets Tyler Durden, who sort of wakes him up and together they start an underground fight club. But when Durden seems to be after more than just a club, the Narrator is starting to have doubts about what's he doing. That's all I will say because of rules number 1 & 2 of Fight Club: you do not talk about Fight Club. But I strongly recommend this movie. 4 stars.

And lastly Changing Lanes. Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson meet after a car crash. Both in a hurry to get to the court for their own cases Affleck leaves Jackson behind who wanted to do everything in a orderly fashion. In Affleck's hurry he dropped the case file he needed in court at the site of the crash which ends up in Jackson's hands. Jackson left behind with a flat tire ends up late at his meeting and is about to lose custody over his children while Affleck screws up his case. Both disgruntled about their cases which can ruin their lives Affleck and Jackson start to bully each other with serious consequences. Jackson refuses to return the case file or rather in bits and pieces, while Affleck pays someone to block Jackson's bank accounts. During the course of the day both men get out of their way to get in each others way and learns valuable lessons about their own lives and the way they have been handling things. The movie was promoted as a high-octane thriller but the movie is actually more a drama than a full blown action thriller. Also other familiar faces like Sydney Pollack, William Hurt, Richard Jenkins and the beautiful Amanda Peet.

Spiderman: Homecoming. Another reboot but at least not an origins story. I remember not liking Spiderman by Sam Raimi too much at first, that took me several years, and was pretty much shocked with a reboot hardly ten years later. Which was in my opinion one of the most foolish decisions Hollywood has ever made. A reboot after ten years? They must really became desperate. This is the second reboot in 15 years. Usually for reasons unknown to me, comic book adaptions don't sit well with me. I don't own any of the comic books by Marvel or DC for that matter of any character. Mostly first viewings they don't appeal to me, despite all the special effects. However this time just as with Deadpool it was different. It's like they finally got it right: practice does make perfect. They also went for a interesting mix of a superhero movie and a coming-of-age film reminiscent of the John Hughes movies in the 80's. With Peter Parker played by Tom Holland we get an even younger version of the character under the watchful eye of Tony Stark who acts as a father figure towards Peter since this takes place after he became Spiderman and uncle Ben's death. There for Aunt May has been made much younger as well and almost looks like a mother to him. Anyway Spiderman: Homecoming does pretty much what the title says and makes a homecoming and by the looks of things it seems like they finally got the version now they want or need for him to enter the shared universe. Apparently he already made an appearance in the previous movie Captain America: Civil War played by the same actor along with Aunt May also by the same actress. And speaking of that shared universe it seems like a great place to start if you're new to this. With currently 16 movies (8 in development), 5 shortfilms and 4 televisions shows, I think you can be a good for a few days or you might begin with the DC Extended Universe which only has four movies so far.

I just watched John hughes' film Uncle Buck. One of my favorite movie. The Planes Trains and Automobiles is also very good; John Candy and Steve Martin starring. I have a feeling that I should see sooner or later that

Oh, those are just gr8 fun! The Great Outdoors is right on par with them ..... and Bart the Bear(RIP!) is one of my all time favorite actors.

i saw Uncle Buck not too long ago myself and it was quite funny. A sort of unofficial prequel to Home Alone as it was Hughes, Culkin & Candy's movie before they worked on Home Alone.

Spider-man Homecoming looks great and reviews are through the roof. Will definitely get to it.

I watched Resident Evil - Degeneration again.


Released back in 2008 and serving as a sequel to the game Resident Evil 2, the story starts when the outbreak reaches a national airport where Claire Redfield and the obnoxious mayor happen to be. Soon a special agent is assigned to the situation to which Claire is surprised to see is Leon Kennedy. The local lawman from Raccoon City.

This is a full on CGI produced movie to which they have made 3 in total so far. These films parallel the live action movies and games except that Alice (Character of the live action movies) does not appear in these.

Its not bad entertainment and if you're a fan of the series, worth a watch. I give it 2 & a half stars.

La Grande Vadrouille. A war movie from the 60's. Three British pilots are shot down over occupied Paris and need to get back to their unit and they are helped by a couple of goodhearted French citizens. However sticking together seems harder than they thought as they keep losing each other during their trip and several hilarious events occur. Interesting that a comedy set in World War II was made hardly twenty years after it happened. Only they didn't laugh with the war but more with themselves and mostly the French. Despite their good intentions they end up in hilarious situations. Starring Louis de Funès, probably France's most popular comedian ever. Very popular in the 60's and 70's. He was probably as popular as Charlie Chaplin was in his days. The movie itself was not that great but it had it's moments and is a nice watch. Maybe a little too long though but the movie was considered to be one of Louis de Funès best movies and the most popular French movie in Germany until 2008 and was seen by 17 million people in France alone until Titanic.

Airport '77. The third in the Airport series. An expensive airplane for the rich only ends up hijacked by the co-pilot and his crew of villains. Unfortunately for them they hit an oil rig of some sort in the Bermuda Triangle and crashes in the ocean there. The plane sinks and the surviving passengers are running out of air. A movie about a sunken plane in the ocean sounds very interesting but all feels kinda made-for-tv. Could've been a great early episode for MacGyver and they actually pull off quite the MacGyverism for the rescue.
