Time to spill the beans! I've been living on these drinks for a long time .... almost as long as Mac. Most recently I've found some protein powder made from 100% ground pumpkin seed. Also putting in some flax seeds, yoghurt de jour, cantaloupe, banana, splash of maple syrup and either some grapefruit juice or (in season) some fresh pressed apple cider. And then blending it all in a Nutribullet.

I make nutri-blasts. Usually various combinations of Kale, tomato, cucumber, apple, pear, berries, banana.
I also regularly use a food drink powder which is like a milk shake, only designed to be a food replacement, much like the diet shakes I guess except this is aimed more at people who may be recovering from illness, or just don't have time to make a meal. They can make one of these drinks instead. I try not to live on it because it's important to eat real food because many bacteria in your stomach live on enzymes and stuff from the real food, so just having 100% processed food (which that powder is) means the digestive bacteria die off and leads to gastric issues.

| QUOTE (Barry Rowland @ 22 June 2015 - 01:08 PM) | | We do. Usually fresh fruit, like blueberries, strawberries, etc. along with banana(s) and a soy smoothie mix. Then add apple juice and whatever else we're in the mood for and blend it. It tastes great! Do you have a recipe? |
Sounds Great! No - no real recipe. Sort of pot luck with the berry, fruit, veggie, juice season and then what's on sale for yoghurt and then add accordingly for taste, thickness, texture. On cheat days I can add a little ice cream. The organic pumpkin seed powder is a regular additive though as is the cold milled flax seeds. The region where I live is one of the better ones in the world for growing apples and I have about 20 heritage trees on the property .... this year I'm going to try to press my own cider and for to add to the mix.
