I'm late to the MacGyver scene, I confess as most already know, but this year I'm grabbing goodies to enjoy, and now I'm after a copy of MacGyver On Ice. The books seem to command a ridiculous price, but what I'm curious about is the fact that I've seen it offered as a "hardback." I contacted the UK company selling it, but all I got was an automated reply.

Was this book actually ever offered in hardback form, as I've never come across it before, but would prefer it, if it existed?

They are the ones I contacted, but they won't even grace me with a direct reply, just an automated one saying they have too many books to deal direct!!??? At that price!!! The mail also intimated you might get paperback even when hardback was described, which made me suspicious there ever was a hardback?

If there was I'd hold out for one.

I would pay their price if IT WAS hardback, but there is also a UK charity offering the book at £80 paperback and at least the proceeds go to third world dying kids...

So I'm torn.

Iif there is no hardback edition in existence, I'm sure Mac as a character, and RDA himself would prefer my cash going to charity than a company saying it has goods it doesn't....

Well, report them. I've had nothing but good experiences with ABE. I've often
requested a photo of the book for sale .... and quickly received a response with image.

Its possible they might be unavailable due to holidays. If you sent a mail, wait a few days.

Good point, Denizen. They look legit & with claims of annual orders fulfilled of over 2 million. I'd give
them a ring after the new year, MacsJeep .... and get verbal confirmation on condition/cover etc.
.... before you decide whether to buy or not.

Hardly a guru. I've pick up most stuff from other people on here.

As far as I'm aware it's never been in hard cover format and we've never had anyone come in here to say they purchased a hardcover copy of it or even seen one before.

Here's all the information we have about the book including some reviews from members here.

I've e-mailed them. I found the book in their EBay store originally and that's were I sent the message. I might get a better response direct. II hadn't realized they had a site as well.

Well, the place on Abe books wouldn't/didn't reply no matter how I tried to contact them, nor did the other UK seller on Ebay when I asked for a picture. There was one US seller, but he won't ship to me. That left the charity shop. I spoke with them, and they knocked 25% off! I've just paid for it, so it should be here soon and the money is going to a good cause, so Mac would approve!

Will do! It's the paperback, though. I don't think the one advertised as hardback is correct and they won't answer! Currently still working through MacGyverisms 1, which is great so far!
