I've finally gotten around to having a play with screencaps and a free program I've found that creates different galleries. I've stuck with a simple html format for now. There are a few things I want to sort as I've caught some images a bit blurry, but if folks are interested I'm thinking of slowly doing more to build a full gallery...

Mac.tv pilot screencaps

You need to set up social sharing on that site otherwise you're not going to get much exposure for it.

I was going to share it on Facebook, but it needs Open Graph Properties set on it first.

I'll look at the sharing buttons etc later today.

The open graph thing I can add the tags for on the main Mac.tv site pages, but the screencap program rewrites the pages every time I add a new file, so if I add them now, it will overwrite them when I add the second episode and so on...

Great work so far MacsJeep.

Thanks denizen This, and the VS are more about passion for the show that getting site hits, and after the stuff Kiwi posted about things getting banned and deleted on YouTube, maybe I'll just keep Mac.tv on the downlo for us true Mac and RDA fans anyway.

I can't use the software I want for the gallery without paying out as I've lost my product key, and the script based galleries tend to hate me and my hundreds of caps from past experience....

And I'm going to have to upgrade my server package as is, to add all the caps I want to do, so I guess I'm hoping If I build it, they will come hehehe....

If not, I'm havin too much fun to care

[denizen]

Well good for you. But keep it in mind for when the dust settles.

That's cool! Taking screencaps is fun, isn't it? XD I don't think CBS will go after fansites... there are several around the web that have been up for years and show no signs of being removed (except for inactivity). I'm sure you'll be fine, but do what you feel comfortable with.

Media player seems to have been the problem causing my crashing when I capped - it happened again today. I've used a different player and the second episode is now capped. I'm trying to capture the "essence" of each episode, not just RDA (much as I do love him) so there are shots of other scenes and characters included.

I'm quite pleased with the result this time!

The Golden Triangle Caps

The main site has a link in the menu now, but I'll keep updating as I add them here too

I still need to look at this media sharing thing, but to be fair, I'm not a lover of Facebook and Twitter...

I've now capped as far as "The Prodigal" and will be continuing between writing the VS. Now that I'm getting over the flu, I should also be able to finally get back to trying to do the social sharing thing...
