There were a total of 9 appearances of Murdoc throughout the series. 2 of them were just flashbacks but they are there nonetheless. (Unfinished Business & Hind-Sight).
Still everyone has their favorite. Which one was yours and why?
There is an older thread for this but I decided to re-post this as this is a more thorough list which includes the two flashback episodes.

For me, I'll be going with first impressions. And that was Cleo Rocks. The first time i saw the episode, i did not even know that Murdoc was in disguise. Caught me by complete surprise! Loved it! There are other favorites of course but if i had to choose one, this would probably be it.

I'm not counting Unfinished Business or Hind-Sight as a Murdoc episode. For years I had to do it with Strictly Business and Obsessed. I think I'd go with Strictly Business. Murdoc is really on a roll. Using a rocket launcher to get Mac? Wow. It's like he was going to do it right this time.
Obsessed was one of the better episodes of season 7. Coming back to haunt him and that final phone call still gives me goosebumps.
I think his last four were his best. Halloween Knights, Serenity, Strictly Business and Obsessed. Halloween Knights is actually quite a classic. Mac and Murdoc joining forces. What an idea! And in Serenity he does what he's actually supposed to do, but it was just a dream.
Cleo Rocks was a bit farfetched to stage an entire musical with rehearsals and everything to get Mac? But I did like the underground final and Murdoc tearing of his mask in front of Penny.
The Widowmaker was nice with the flamethrower and Partners was great too but I've always liked the later episodes.

I have to go with Strictly Business as well. I thought the first half of Obsessed was great, but the second half was little... disappointing. Kinda like they had a great idea and didn't know how to end it. I have to agree with MacGyverGod on all accounts though. I would love to do a rewrite of Obsessed if I had the time.

I think the odd thing about Obsessed indeed is why Murdoc suddenly wanted power. Be a general of a South American country. You might even wonder how he got in Delasora's entourage after he tried to kill him. In all it is a good episode: the dream, the calls, the haunts, Mac's lack of sleep, the Foundation's loss of credibility. Mac going after Murdoc, the military music, escaping the rocket, when the cart of gas comes to a halt, MacGyver jumping on the car and that final scene on the phone. What an ending!

The whole "military" part seemed a bit out of place, but that's probably just me. The beginning seemed darker, more personal. Like Murdoc vs MacGyver, and Murdoc had the upper hand by making MacGyver feel like a victim. Kinda get where I'm going with this?
Don't get me wrong though, I still loved the episode from beginning to end. I just like that Strictly Business was a bit more consistent in it's tone. That's just about it. lol

Strictly Business is a top five episode in my opinion. It has very good flow throughout and doesn't seem to bog down at all. The script is solid, the sets varied and interesting, the score complimentary, and the acting impressive from start to finish.
