Okay, so, being balanced....Lucas has grown on me. I feel I could accept him as Mac, if only the production and writers can get their bit right...

I feel like they have a good cast, but I do worry that the spirit of the character will be lost. Let's face it when we watched TOS it was something new. The reboot has already made reference to MacGruber a few times, albeit jokingly. I just want to make sure that the essence of the character gets updated to current times, but not lost altogether in a world thinks of Mac as the guy who can make a bomb out of a paper plate, bubble gum, and a paperclip.

For me music might as well be another character. I don't like what I hear so far. Hopefully the bravado will be dialed down and also become harmonious with the Mac character.

I hate to say it but i get the feeling this will have the same formula as H50. Which is not a bad show but the formula theyre playing at is not Mac either.

Call me old fashioned but i'd go for a 007 / Indiana Jones styled trailer over the conventional funny guy hip hop trailer.

Well, we have to balanced. We're mostly rehashing the same statement over and over again.

We won't know until we've seen the pilot. We have our concerns, and that's okay. This is one of our most beloved characters. We just want to see our hero brought back into the light properly.

I understand perfectly they have to promote the show in some fashion, and we may not like it. Hell, we're probably not going to like every little thing we see in the pilot.

But, to be honest, there are things about the original many of us didn't like either.

Balance is everything. Let's not be too gung-ho, but at the same time, let's not be quick to doom it either. That, and this is the internet... it's very easy to misconstrue things.

Well I'm confused when it comes to CBS because it looks to me they don't share their promos about MacGyver easily. for example I still don't see first trailer on their YT channel.

From my experience with the Twilight Fandom (and fans of the main actors in it), a lot of the leaked trailers were initially made for the international market (e.g. for the movie markets at film festivals where movie rights and tv shows are sold to international distributors) or for exclusive deals (e.g. talk shows, online websites, magazines - everyone gets something different and unique to contribute to the promo cycle).

Someone probably got his hands on this and leaked it in advance...
