Okay, that makes a LOT more sense after reading that then just hearing about Jack suddenly having a wife. Seriously, I was wondering what Jack had taken that day.

I never doubted Jack might be able to get married without realizing it , but without even knowing who his wife actually is kinda stretched my imagination.

The Reboot premieres in France tonight - M6 will air the first 3 episodes. They're bringing lots of articles with short interviews they've done back in Monte Carlo last summer; so nothing really new.

But I'm not sure if I've seen this portrait before. Must be another one they've done back when they made the first portraits series.

MacGyver is coming onto CBS with a new episode airing this Friday, but before you watch, why not get a few more teases regarding what is coming up?

At the conclusion of our recent interview regarding Friday’s emotional episode of Hawaii Five-0, executive producer Peter M. Lenkov teased a number of things coming later this season, whether it be the ongoing search for Mac’s dad, Mac’s history with Matty, and a new love interest for Riley you’ll be seeing before too long.

CarterMatt – What’s going to be coming up now when it comes to Matty and MacGyver? There was a hint earlier this season that there’s a history there that hasn’t fully been explored.
Peter M. Lenkov – That’s where the season is leading. The end of it will be the discovery of whether or not Matty knew MacGyver’s father and where his father is. All that stuff is where we’re driving.

Are there are any names floating around for Mac’s dad?
We’ve had some thoughts, but we haven’t locked in on who it is yet. We’re definitely going to meet him.

Is there any more David Dastmalchian this season? Is Murdoc coming back?
He is in a big episode coming up. One more.

Back last season, we had a dynamic presented where Bozer seemed to be really interested in Riley, but in turn Riley wasn’t showing that back. Now that Bozer has his own love interest, is it possible the tables could turn there and she could become interested in him?
Bozer’s in a relationship right now, but there is an episode coming up where we’re bringing the Coltons back and she’s going to be having a relationship with one of the sons.

I was wondering when Riley was going to hook up with someone else/who she'd hook up with.

Wait, does this mean the producers have no idea who Mac's dad is either?

I'd assumed they would at least mention Kalei ("Hawaiian-Boy") once (e.g. that they stopped texting or that it wasn't going anywhere). Pairing her with one of the Colton's is not the worst idea, but that probably means it's just a one-time-thing or we never get to see him more than once or twice a season - unless they recast one of them, I doubt they'll add one of the Coltons as a regular because although both actors are filming in Atlanta, they are regulars on their own shows and therefore pretty busy.

Considering Mac Senior - well, I'm not sure if Lenkov is telling the complete truth here. He probably can't. They're filming Episode 17 or 18 right now, so they'll start filming the Season Finale in about 4 or 5 weeks. That means they might be already in negotiations for the actor or at least in the final stage of casting.

After all that build-up, I doubt they'll bring in Mac's dad only to never see him again. It must be someone that's willing to show up next season as well (similarly to Elwood or Murdoc). That means they need someone who's willing to fly to Atlanta every now and then and has the time to do it.

Both Tracy Spiridakos and Sandrine Holt are busy, so even if the producers wanted them back for a few episodes, it probably wouldn't have worked out. And that would just be a shame if that happens with MacGyver Senior as well. If the revelation happens in the Season Finale, he might be part of the storyline of the first few episodes of Season 3.

Also, with all that build-up and teasing, expectations are sky-high. Many on social media still expect RDA to show up as Mac's dad. So to soften the disappointment (many stated they'd stop watching if RDA doesn't turn out to be the father), they'd need someone really likeable and charismatic - especially if Daddy turns out to be a good guy after all (which I'm pretty sure he will).

It's a blast from the past for fans of the original MacGyver series on an upcoming episode of the popular CBS reboot.

One of MacGyver's most menacing adversaries—in both the past and present series—is an assassin by the name of Murdoc. And in the February 2 episode, we'll see two Murdocs for some double trouble.

CBS announced Thursday that Michael Des Barres, who played Murdoc in the original series, will guest star in the episode as a mentor for the current Murdoc (David Dastmalchian). But a mentor/mentee relationship can only go so far: When the Des Barres's original Murdoc, Michael, decides to retire, the new one tries to kill him!

Of course, Mac (Lucas Till) and the team will get involved in all this mayhem, so it promises to be a fun episode to watch for past and current fans of MacGyver.

I love how interactive MDB is on Twitter regarding this article; using the same emoticons that David usually uses for MacGyver-related Tweets

Looking at their age, it's a pretty unique situation that both MDB and Bruce McGill are still acting regularly and were willing to do this. I think getting 2 of the most iconic and/or loved recurring actors of the original show for the reboot within the same season, only 5 episodes apart is a pretty big coup. (I consider Dana Elcar as a main cast member; even if he didn't appear in all the episodes.)

Murdoc's expression cracks me up. Either MDB's character just said something REALLY weird, or he just scared the crap out of the younger assassin

I was kinda wondering why he would have an expression like that... and all I can think of is that he probably just heard that MDB's Murdoc is retiring... and that expression is one of hearbreak. XD

I mean, that's the look of "say it's not so!"

Regardless, I'm pretty excited to see how it's gonna turn out.

I was kinda hoping they'd do something like this... I remember when reboot Murdoc commented on how he killed someone named Murdoc and took his identity. I thought, wouldn't it be awesome if they brought in MDB to fill that role again, because he would never die. And... they did!

Maybe he revealed that Cage is actually his half-sister and he just realized that he almost killed off another family member .

I showed my mom the pictures and she said she read Murdoc's expression as though he were thinking, "DAD?! You're still alive? I thought you were dead!"

But the press release says that Murdoc tries to kill his mentor, so the heartbreak must only go so far... Guess we'll find out!
