There's no additional Stills yet besides this one. Also, Isabel Lucas is again listed in the episode (she was for 2x12 as well, but didn't get an opening title credit).

I am so excited about this episode, but I don't understand why when they have two Murdocs they needed to muddy the plot waters by including a Diane and Riley story. I hope, hope they are not a focus or threatened in any way and Jack is made to look completely foolish. I want this to be a MAC centered story with Jack and the two Murdocs as the focus. I just don't understand why for once they couldn't chose not to muddy everything up. I usually like Marqui Jackson's writing, and I am grateful Nancy Kiu isn't writing this one but I'm surprised with such a big episode-AND potential new viewers-that Peter Lenkov or Craig O'neill didn't have a hand in it. I even commented on a Review done by Matt Carter I believe where he briefly mentioned Murdoc but then went on and on about Diane!! What? Do you think people really want to see the romance thing that badly? Maybe it is just me.

Well, I guess for the same reason they implemented the Elwood story in the same episode that already had the Bozer-Spy-School-Story-arc: The show is "Team Phoenix", which means all main characters and the recurring plus guest stars for every episode need enough screentime.
Funny thing is, "eliminating" Cage didn't really change that much (because she usually was part of Mac's storyline anyway). The writing for Season 2 is better, but I actually preferred the storytelling of S1 because there were usually only 2 storylines as the show was still "mission-stuff-only". If there were 2 storylines, they usually referred to the same mission; e.g. Riley and Bozer in the war room or looking for clues while Mac + Jack were in the field.
Theoretically, the fact that the Reboot - contrary to the Original Show - keeps it mission-related, allows the show to "work" 2 half-missions at once; similarly to CSI and other crime shows. It's a good solution to keep all the main cast members occupied.
But since they started implementing an additional "personal" storyline for one of the main character into almost every episode, that makes it a bit "crowded". Yes, it's a team show and therefore, we should get to know these characters. But the show is "episodic" and the run-time for an episode is only 40 minutes; so everything must be "tied up" in the end (besides the long-term story-arc with Mac's dad we also need to be remeinded of every now and then).
As we discussed before, this could have been avoided somewhat if Bozer hadn't joined Phoenix until later (or if he'd spent half a season in "spy school" as a recurring) and if Matty didn't come on board until the start of S2. We would have had more time to get to know Mac, Jack, Bozer and Riley and about their families/backstories before they'd added Cage.
I guess it's also personal preference. I know it's the modern storytelling style, but I think everything moved a bit fast. I feel the same about H50, actually. I often feel that either the episodes shouldn't be stuffed full of characters and stories or they should have made the script into a two-parter.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I don't mind Jack and Diane coming up again, but I kinda feel that this upcoming Murdoc episode should just be that- a Murdoc episode. Bozer, Riley and Matty can be back at the War Room trying to help, (sorta like Riley and Bozer did in "Large Blade") and we can focus on the B-story lines in the next episode. I wasn't gonna say anything at first, though, because I thought I was just biased since I'm such a big Murdoc fan.

He talks about the Reboot right at the beginning and once again near the end, but the whole thing is very interesting to listen to. About 30 minutes, he talks about Original MacGyver and RDA and the craziest scene he ever filmed for the OG MacGyver.

MacGyver Renewed For Season 3 By CBS! FEBRUARY 2, 2018 BY RENEWCANCELTV
CBS has quietly renewed MacGyver for Season 3, slated to premiere fall 2018, insiders have assured RenewCancelTV. (...) MacGyver joins the likes of TBBT, Young Sheldon, NCIS: NO, S.W.A.T., and Life In Pieces on CBS’ 2018-19 return slate.
Not sure how trusty these "insiders" are, but it is plausible. If it's true, they might officially announce it when the show comes back on March 2nd to remind non-regular viewers that it's worth to tune in again since the show will go on for another year?

I hope so! That would be awesome. For all the little things that have irked me this season, I truly feel like the show has grown, and I honestly like Lucas Till and George Eades and want to see them succeed.

I don't think fans should be worried - the Reboot is sold very well internationally, and ratings are good enough that CBS sure would love to renew all 3 Friday shows.
I feel like there's a higher possibility of BB or H50 being cancelled, though - either because one of the leading stars wants out after so many years or because the costs are getting too high ("older" shows are much more expensive production-wise; therefore expectations for gains and audiences are higher). Of course, if e.g. BB gets cancelled, they could put the Magnum Reboot in the BB time slot. I think it would work well with MacGyver and H50. I doubt they will meddle with the line-up if they don't have to, though.

Okay... Now I want to know WHY Jack wants to break into Matty's home.
Don't we all
My guesses: - he's bored - Matty confiscated something he wants back - he lent her his Bruce Willis collection and feels the need to watch "Die Hard" right now - he's looking for proof concerning her knowing of/about Mac's father

Probably that last one. Or the second one. Oh, if he gets caught... Poor Jack!
