And the hair is noticeably shorty but still kind of shaggy macgyverish I like it.

Actually is it me or does with the new look still looks exactly like the comic book version? Probably just me.

Oh yes. A vast improvement. This is more in line with the character. I know its only a 5 second promo but it appealed more to me than the original trailer ever did.

I found an article about Lucas Till talking about MacGyver to some media people at a luncheon. It's interesting to see how MacGyver became a little part in his life in his younger years, and I bet he wouldn't have thought that it would get to be a bigger part in his life now. Also the first time we get to see him really talk about MacGyver so, yay for Lucas Till

Speaking of the pilot, I hope they have time to put in the 'MacGyver held captive by terrorists' subplot It was actually one of the ideas that I had in my head long before the reboot was even planned. Maybe they can make MacGyver's girl gone wild the cause of his capture, I guess? Something like that. I just wish it would still be a subplot because, yknow, MacGyver bringing down a terrorist group linked to an old flame that broke his heart and turned evil? WOW! Also, a sequence of MacGyver escaping captivity in the first scene of the pilot would really be cool, would even be like a nod to the opening gambits. When I saw the trailer for the scrapped pilot, the scenes they put in wherein MacGyver was escaping captivity reminded me of the 1985 pilot's opening gambit...especially the parachute part
