By the way, can anyone read the list of characters? The picture is quite blurry but I can identify: Angus MacGyver, Jack Dalton, Riley Davis, Patricia Thornton, Wilt Bozer, żNik...?

That would be cool to have Nikki back. She was certainly one of the few characters that had a lot of potential and just wasn't given the chance to shine. It was too bad people didn't like her very much... I blame the writers. I think they meant to make her strong-willed, but she just kinda came off as argumentative and immature. Poor Nikki...
Maybe this time around she'll be the character she was meant to be.

Officially no RDA then. I can't say that I am surprised about his decision.
But that's just the call sheet for the Pilot Episode; he could still join later... maybe he wants to see some material first before making any decision?
That's always a sign you might be in trouble if your dashboard is on fire... Currently blogging about the MacGyver Reboot on Dashboard On Fire
Huge overhaul of personnel at the new MacGyver: producers, writers, actors, etc. The promo people for CBS/MacGyver called my agent to see if I would be interetsted in helping to promote their show.
I'll email you tomorrow-ish... my girl is here!

And update: July 25, 2016
So many people have responded to the attempted "reboot" of the MacGyver franchise, and a lot of people have asked me if I'm going to be in the new show, or am I going to produce it, or, yada.
And all I can say is, I'm not considering being a part of a project that has overlooked the insanely LOYAL FANS of the original character and has proceeded without considering how and why they all became and STAYED loyal fans...
Yes, I was asked, but no, I won't be involved in the MacGyver reboot. I have tried to recognize that there really is a balance to be found here. Hence, my loyalty to my fans.

Huh? I don't understand his statement here at all. In the past, I could understand his points about MacGyver perhaps being better suited for the 80s, but his comment here about this show proceeding "without considering why they all became and stayed loyal fans" doesn't make sense to me. Unless he has seen footage of the finished show, what is he basing this on? Why does HE think people became fans of the original show, and what, specifically, does he think this reboot is lacking in that regard?
Also, regarding his comment about his "loyalty to his fans": I think many of his fans would have liked to see him in this.

THANK YOU!! I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught on to that... I don't really understand either.

Very disappointed in RDA, but I did see this coming. It doesn't make a lot of sense?
Insanely loyal fans? - aren't those the people who drool over RDA's ever movement?
As a MacGyver fan, I respect his decision, but I think it's the wrong one. Especially if he can't differentiate between his loyal fans and stalkers.
I feel let down, especially after he acknowledged the huge overall of personnel within the new MacGyver, who are looking to honour and respect the original series.
No he hasn't seen anything of this reboot, he is just nursing a damaged ego, all because he wasn't asked at the conceptual stage.
Still, this project will go forth and prosper without him.
CBS won't ask twice !
Here is another set pic - could this be a nod to "Tough boys", look familiar.
