I'm looking for more news and photos from You
Thanks! It takes a LOT of work and time, though... good thing I don't have kids or pets that starve to death while I'm hunting for set pics on the internet
She has some pretty rabid fans. That one Tweet has like thousands of likes when the average MacGyver-related Tweet has maybe 50-60 tops. On top of that, there are some who are angry that she's guesting on a TV show rather than starring in one, that she's guesting on MacGyver like it's an insult to her greatness, and even people saying she should BE MacGyver, as if it's sexist that they cast a man in the role.

Rabid fans like that are the reason I'm glad I'm not famous... I like being a nobody.

I was always surprised that Lucas' fans have been so quiet since start of production (thought because his fans must be younger, they would be more vocal and up to the social media game); so I was very surprised that Amy seems to have so rabid fans.
Many people are angry that several shows with females as the main hero have been cancelled; but I don't know why you just have to instantly hate on every other show with a white male hero; especially since the character of MacGyver wasn't created just recently... also, I don't think as a fan you have a right to be angry at her being in the show - it's not like anybody forced her to participate.

That's what I'm saying. Yeah I get it that there aren't enough shows with women in lead roles, and women have every right to be mad about it, but it's not like it's this specific show's fault that CBS has a problem with shows about women. The MacGyver reboot already gets enough crap without being accused of sexism too.

Coming for Mac or is he on our side?

well the caption says "Coming for you homie" and then lists George, Lucas and MacGyver along with a hashtag of bar and fists. In that context it would imply that he's coming to fight them.

Mac and Jack vs. big guy. A nod to Lethal Weapon 4. I'm in!

I wonder where MacGyver lives in this reboot. I know they're filming in Atlanta, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. They shot several seasons of the original series in Canada, but they pretended it was California. So they could do something similar again (pretending that Atlanta is someplace else.)
According to the Roundtable Interviews, they take over the concept of DXS and Phoenix Foundation; so they might as well make the location LA/California, too?

Take over the concept? I thought the organization in this was going to be the DXS.

I thought it was Phoenix Foundation. I'm really confused about this reboot now... what in the hell is going on? O_o I feel like I missed something...

It was in one of the Roundtable Interviews I posted in the ComicCon Thread this week... I don't remember in which one, but if I remember correctly, Peter mentioned something about keeping both DXS and Phoenix Foundation...
Maybe that's all part of the pilot episode? "The Rising" of the Phoenix Foundation out of the DXS?

That's my guess, too. I suspect Patricia Thornton will belong to DXS, and for some reason she and Mac end up forming Phoenix as a kind of off-shoot from (or maybe a branch of) DXS, intended to handle delicate matters that can't get bogged down in bureaucracy. Unlike in the original series, I picture the Phoenix Foundation in this show being just a very small group of people. Of course, that's just pure speculation on my part.

I hope the Phoenix Foundation isn't too much like the original, if that's the case. I want MacGyver to work at a place that explicitly assigns him to dangerous, action packed missions more than just occasionally.
We've now seen a few photos of Jack with a gun. I wonder how this will play into his relationship with Mac. In the original series, if Jack carried a gun, Mac would have always been lecturing Jack about how guns are bad, and trying to discourage Jack from using it. But I kind of hope they don't do that too much in this reboot. Of course, Mac shouldn't be using guns (since that would totally change who he is), but I don't really need to see him being quite as preachy as he used to be. Yet, at the same time, it would be weird if he's anti-gun, and yet does NOT object to his friend always carrying one. I guess they could handle it in a more humorous way than the original show did. They could butt heads about it, but play it up for laughs, kind of like how in Hawaii 5-O, Dano doesn't always approve of Steve's rough tactics, and that leads to humorous arguments between them, not preachy sermons.

Hm... I guess it might also depend on if Jack is still CIA (and therefore carrying a gun anyway; so there's no point in Mac lecturing him) or if he's ex-CIA but "came back" for this mission to save his ex-girlfriend.
If Jack is former CIA and with the Phoenix Foundation now, there's indeed potential for Mac trying to convince him not to take a gun with him. But I guess that the show is kinda "Team MacGyver" now, they have the perfect opportunity to involve a gun for the action-scenes without making MacGyver being gun-friendly... not sure I like it, though.

I don't think MacGyver has any problem with other people using guns. He doesn't expect the entire DXS or Phoenix Foundation to change just to suit him. And at this point, Jack seems to be an entirely different character. The original wasn't some rugged government agent, he was comic relief and actually a bit cowardly. If he picked up a gun MacGyver wouldn't want him to use it because he'd probably end up shooting himself in the foot.

Something tells me that Mac&Jack chemistry will be like between Benton Fraser and Ray Vecchio in "Due South" (my second fave show after MacGyver in childhood) where Ray used to treat Benton as someone who knows nothing about "true" cop work in a large city but usually at the end Benny's methods appeared to be the only successful ones.
Maybe it will be like that in upcoming MacGyver reboot where Jack will treat younger Mac as totally naive cub who has no idea how to operate in world of experienced secret agents but at the end it will turn out that Mac's ingenious and gunless methods were the best solution.

This is true because Pete and Nikki carried guns in the original, and Mac didn't really say anything about it. The only time he really pipes up about it is if the gun is being used as a means for revenge.
Now, it may just be me, but it seems that this MacGyver isn't as anti-gun, but I guess we'll see, huh? lol
MacDobromir - Due South is a great show! lol I remember watching that with my sisters.
