So if you are visiting my profile here, you already see I watch A LOT of TV shows! I can't deny it, I am an addict roller.gif

Shows I really love:
Bitten (I am a die hard Fan since it first aired on german TV 3 years ago) starring Greg Bryk
Hannibal starring the awesome Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy
MacGyver
The Americans
Designated Survivor
Mary Kills People (not watched yet sadly but it has my favorite actor Greg Bryk starring in S1)
Frontier (starring Greg Bryk)
24
Teen Wolf
Wynonna Earp
Terminator SCC
Nikita
La Femme Nikita
Star Trek Discovery
...
All things with Greg Bryk

There are so many more but I think these are my favorites so far! If you telling me about a show and if I can google the german title (only if I have to) I probably heard about that show!

If you like Werewolves, pack dynamics, family, love, action and great stunts, martial arts stuff and thrill - I can highly recommend my favorite show BITTEN tongue.gif That was the main point I created an account on Twitter btw ... wub.gif

Thanks for all your recommendations, MIB. I have to admit that Bitten was not my cup of tea. I am more of a Buffy fan than of recent Vampire / Werewolf shows.

You are the most welcome!!!

It's okay! Not everybody can like everything on TV! Otherwise it would be very boring I guess ...

I remember I watched a few episodes of Buffy in the past as a kid (90s) wink.gif and I own a few seasons of it's spin-off 'Angel' on DVD biggrin.gif

Still going through the A-Team and occassionally Columbo. By starting at the fifth and final season of the A-Team, the series has taken a very interesting and unexpected turn with the introduction of General Stockwell who seems eager to recrute the team for his own ends. In the last (several) episodes of season 4 the show really felt it was running out of steam and a major change was requiered and they more than adequately solved it with the biggest bang they made so far to start their last season. It was finally about to happen: The A-Team caught and having to face the consequences for the crime they didn't commit in a court martial. It seemed there was no way out this time and they made one of the best episodes in the entire series if not even the best. If you ever get to watch it, keep an eye out to David Ackroyd who plays the lawyer for the military.

Columbo has been great also. Latest episode I have seen guest starred Don S. Davis and Michael Gregory. It was real cool to see General Hammond and Whitecloud in an episode but they don't share scenes though. Michael Gregory played a loan shark who wanted his money back from the killer in that episode. Meanwhile the killer tries to figure out a way to get the money from his rich uncle who owns an American Football team but there is somebody else who has plans for the both of them. That episode also contained one of the most spectacular scenes I have ever seen in Columbo.

Another great episode was Columbo attending the wedding of his nephew and ends up in a kidnapping case when the bride gets kidnapped right from under their noses.

I watched Person of Interest through it's original run, and have it all on dvd. I won't spoil anything, but I kinda thought season 5 wasn't the greatest. But you might think differently. wink.gif

I never cared for Gotham, but I did watch those 2 episodes that David Dastmalchian guest stared in.

I finally finished The A-Team. I got to admit that the final intended episode The Grey Team was one of the worst ones I have ever seen. But just as with MacGyver another episode was aired much later and is probably the lost episode. The episode was called Without Reservations in which Murdoc, Face and Frankie Santana are held hostage in a restaurant. Anyway, I can conlude that season 5 is my favorite season, although I think the first three episodes could've been great a series finale. If they would just have met General Stockwell some other way and in the end turned against him that would result in their arrest and trial but in a surprising twist they would get their pardons thanks to Amy Allen. That would've been great. I think the series ended a bit in a let down but this was mostly due to low ratings. Still the season features a few familiar faces like Geno Silva, Soon Teck-Oh (in a similar role as in Murderers' Sky) and Richard Romanus.

Personally, I recently discovered Hogan’s Heroes, probably 40 years after every other fan. It’s about a guy, called Hogan, who is the leader of a sabotage and esipionage underground run out of a POW camp in Nazi Germany. I’ve seen some fans of the show write crossover fics with Macgyver before.

Besides that, My Little Pony has been good. And that made me feel awkward to write... I’m not that old... am I? If you haven’t heard, It’s a show. About ponies. That I want to crossover with Macgyver, just because I can. Riley and Twilight? Jack and Rainbow? Macgyver and Applejack? The list goes on...

And finally, I’m waiting for Netflix to get a new season of Death in Paradise. This show is someone is murdered and smart detectives must solve the case. It’s brilliant. And would be great as a macgyver crossover.

That’s about it for shows I’m following. And now you know my train of thought. (Note to self, what would the emotions be like in macgyvers head? Which would be in charge? Why?)

(If you can’t tell, Inside Out.)

Welcome to the forums, Ingoma! And don't worry, I LOVE Inside Out! biggrin.gif

Let's see... Mac would probably be a mixture of Joy and Sadness, because of his tough past. Jack and Penny would be mostly Joy. Murdoc would be Anger, some Sadness, and maybe a touch of Fear.

Over in the Top Tens discussion in the Houseboat, another user (Sanguine) and I have been talking about My Little Pony and MacGyver. You're definitely not alone! wink.gif

Currently following Grounded For Life.

Sean and Claudia are both 32 years old and are raising three kids. Their oldest child, Lily is 14 years old so Sean and Claudia became parents at the age of 18, right after high school graduation. Because of that they had to give up a lot of freedom of their lives they keep yearning for at their current age and still live quite immature. They act like they're still 22 and don't have kids, however it's like reality has them... Grounded For Life. tongue.gif Sean is not the brightest guy but he means well even though he does pull off a few stunts that might get him arrested and doesn't exactly teach his kids about responsibility. Sean is more like the kind of guy, you would meet on a heavy metal festival but in his own way he does his best to raise his kids. He's married to Claudia, a sight for sore eyes as her looks don't go unnoticed by Sean's brother Eddie who seems to have it in for her. Claudia supports Sean most of the time but has her own ways of talking to her kids. Eddie sees himself as a gangster but is mostly doing nothing with his life except visiting Sean's house and living from his fridge. Lily desperately tries to get attention from both her parents by acting like a rebel and exaggerating the consequences of her actions. Walt is Sean's and Eddie's father, who looks down upon Sean for the ways he tries to raise his children and thinks of himself he was a better father to his kids. Jimmy and Henry are Sean's two youngest kids living in a world of their own trying to understand the situations that takes place in their house.

This is not your regular family-oriented sitcom. Sean and Claudia are not exactly rolemodels as parents. They wanna be young and hip and cool, probably as a compensation for the years they missed being that. But I think that gives them a rather open way of communication even though they don't always understand the situation. The episodes are told in flashback way. The characters tell each other what happened, how it happened and how it got worse.

The humor is a little more daring but this was the early 2000's and no longer the 80's or 90's. The show lasted for five seasons and with 91 episodes, I don't think it made the impact some other sitcoms did in the decades before. I don't know what I actually think of it for now, since I've only been watching 5 episodes. I think a full opinion will form later on.

I just discovered "Scorpion". It is about a team of geniuses that work together with Cabe, an agent from Homeland Security to fix things when situations go wrong. There is Sylvester, a human calculator with photographic memory, Happy, a mechanical engineer, Walter, a hacker with a 197 IQ, Toby, a profiler/doctor and Paige, a"normal" woman that works with them as well. They are always building things out of whatever they find around them to get them out of trouble (MacGyverisms?)

Yeah, Scorpion is one of the many CBS shows that takes place in the same universe as the MacGyver reboot. They should do a cross-over. Although I've never really gotten into Scorpion, I'd just like to see that happen.

I have started watching Marvel's The Inhumans and at first was not sure what to make of it. But its really growing on me.

So what's it about?

Black Bolt, the head of the Inhuman royal family and King of Attilan, who all live on the moon possesses a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy an entire city.

But after a military coup attacks the family, the group which includes Black Bolt's wife, Medusa; his brother and rival, Maximus, cousins and Medusa's sister, Crystal manage to escape to Hawaii, where interactions with theworld and humans around them prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.

It didnt do much for me while i saw the first 2 episodes but from there it really picked up. For something a little different, give it a go.

I recently started watching it as well, now that they started airing Season 1 again.

I'm not that invested in it and the characters, but it's a nice show to watch after work. Pretty standard CBS episodic team show, I guess. It's not too bad if you miss an episode every now and then.

I've been on a Fullmetal Alchemist binge. Netflix released both versions of the anime because the live action movie is being released on Netflix on Feb. 19th.

I've watched both before, but they're so good. For those unfamiliar, Fullmetal Alchemist isn't for little kids. It's got a lot of humor, but it's also very dark and messed up sometimes. It's a good balance though. Brotherhood is definitely my favorite of the two.

In the past week I've finally started on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. The original show that spun off Xena Warrior Princess. I guess most of us will know the show. Though preceded by five tv-movies, only the first two seasons were released in Belgium for some reason. Guess Xena was just even more popular. Hercules seems lighter though. Two guys fighting on the side of good while Xena were two women trying to keep each other in balance. Now I have just seen the episode where Xena makes her very first appearance, though Lucy Lawless had guest starred before. Pretty much the same deal as with MacGyver I guess as also in Xena several actors returned in the different roles. The first episode started rather cheesy but the show quickly found it's footing. It's also different than Xena. Just like Xena I expected Hercules and Iolaus to be together in every episode but Hercules seems to be travelling on his own most of the time while Iolaus shows up every now and then. Further it's quite obvious that Hercules and Xena are amongst the first shows (if not the first) to have used CGI effects since Hercules fights with monsters and both of them meets creatures like centaurs. It's a fun and lighter show than Xena who prefers to switch various genres. Unfortunately the later seasons and tv-movies were never released here. If there is one reason for me to get the later episodes is that Xena makes more appearances in Hercules after her evil days. Her appearances in Hercules' first season are meant as a bridge and start for her own series, which might explain the beginning of Xena's pilot episode a little more.

Watching Xena or Hercules nowadays is a little cheesy but its fun if you like that sort of thing. Strangely its also one of the few franchises where it's spin off was more successful than its original show. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and the team developed the shows which is why Ted Raimi appears so often as well as long time friend/ composer Joseph LoDuca.

Later on they went on to produce Legend of the Seeker, Ash Vs the Evil Dead and Spartacus (A show i recently acquired but have yet to see it).

I am still watching Star Trek The Next Generation and currently on Season 6. Recently saw the 2 parter Chain of Command which was quite good. Ronny Cox appears as a captain who is instructed by Starfleet to take over the role of captain on the Enterprise while Picard is put on a covert mission to infiltrate a Cardassian threat. Things are made very uncomfortable for the crew as the new captains methods are more military based than they have known and Picard is ultimately captured and tortured.

It was fresh to see these episodes as they are very unorthodox in comparison to the usual episodes but highly recommended!

Yes, it is. Both Hercules as Xena are set in the fantasy genre and it was the beginning for Weta Digital. Of course a centaur looks silly now, or any other monster that was used but at that time it was top notch. Now it may look like those cheesy syfy and asylum movies. Though last time I saw Xena, it didn't bother me much, maybe it's because I had never seen Hercules before until now. Hercules fights with more monsters then Xena did. You're more bound to run into a centaur than into a three headed monster when it comes to Xena and Xena was indeed more popular and a lot darker too. The first action show to feature two female leads and probably the only one since. But just like with Hercules it doesn't take itself serious, even the real dramatic episodes.

It was indeed developed by the team of Evil Dead. After all Sam Raimi, Ted Raimi, Rob Tapert, Joseph LoDuca and Bruce Campbell were all friends in college. That's how Evil Dead became to be. Bunch of freshly graduates trying to make the coolest horror movie they could with what they had. And though their cooperations seems rare, I'm glad they're still doing it. Spartacus and Ash vs. Evil Dead are great examples for that. To be honest when I first saw Spartacus, I always figured: that's how Xena should've been. A show like Xena would've done great on HBO. Though, I liked Xena's campiness. It's versatile, Xena could be silly or dead serious and the switch in episode genres was also a very welcome thing. It kept me guessing what kind of episode I would get. As a kid I was hoping for comedies. Some episodes are pretty dark and as a 10-11 year old Xena still could've been a little frightening sometimes. It's clearly meant for an older audience.

So I finished Hercules and started on Xena Warrior Princess. It's pretty clear which one is better. Hercules was fun and light but sometimes maybe a bit repetitive. Of course it's fun to see Hercules and Iolaus fight on the same side while Xena can be tempted to switch sides. That's what gives Xena more depth as a character. Also Gabrielle has her attraction in how she started as a good natured farm girl with a silly side, yet very different from Iolaus who seemed to have a great sense of humor. Anyway, now I'm on Xena and plenty of other shows, I guess watching the MacGyver reboot is set on hold for a while.
