Hi, everyone. smile.gif

So recently I have been working on the timeline again. I'm working at Faith, Hope and Charity now nearing the end of season 6. Than I just have to get through season 7 and the tv-movies. Still a little bit of work but I just want get to posting it now, however I wanted to finish it first. Problem is I can't tell when it'll be ready. Slow but steady it's going.

I've also been wondering how I will post it, like chronologically or according the airings and what to do when the timeline decides to go it's own way so that it differs from ours and believe me it does.

I have chopped up the timeline into eras like MacGyver's childhood, high school and college years... to get a clear look on it and to see how everything fits in his life. Maybe especially those college years that seemed to be bulking with friends and girls who kept appearing out of nowhere.

Just know that the timeline doesn't only concern MacGyver but practically everything and everyone he came in contact with, directly or indirectly. It's pretty extensive. So in order to keep the timeline a bit logical I decided to first post the timeline according to the airings of the episodes.

So for example we start with the Pilot in which we go to the point in time MacGyver wanted to ride that golden palomino followed by the events that takes places within the episode itself. Than we go to the next episode: The Golden Triangle and so on and so on so that we can have a timeline per episode so that later when I post the big timeline chronologically it would make a lot more sense what affects the episode in question and why.

Deadly Dreams and The Prometheus Syndrome for instance are the first in the final timeline because in both episode characters are called dinosaurs. So dinosaurs lived in the Macverse. What follows is Black Rhino because Kate says MacGyver is looking at 15 million years of survival. Legend of the Holy Rose and Eye of Osiris follows because of their legends and than we follow the course of time in the Macverse from Ancient Times into the present and after MacGyver's final adventure. It might run chronologically with ours but than it might go it's own way only to end up the same with ours again.

It might be a tad confusing, I know. It's quite mindbending but this how I got to a lot of new story angles. You'll see for yourself once we get going.

Final note: I know there are lot of nitpicks and inconsistencies, this is also why I created the timeline, to counteract everything as much as possible and to give it place anyway somewhere in Mac's life. Some things can be ignored, others can't. There maybe one time writers who can make a significant adding in Mac's history while others can't.

Runners is a great example in which MacGyver claims he was 7 when his dad died but in Passages he says he was 10. Phoenix Under Siege establishes the date of the car accident on December 14 and that it has been 25 years since. If you count from 1962 till 1986 = 25 years has passed and when you count backwards ten years from 1962, MacGyver is born in 1952. So what's said in Runners can be ignored since Phoenix Under Siege and Passages confirms otherwise.

Also when Mac says he was 8 years old when Turk Donner brought home the gold in ice hockey in 1960 is pretty much true. Actually he brought it back in February 1960 about a month before his birthday.

Another thing that can be ignored are the passports in Every Time She Smiles, both showing the birth dates of MacGyver and Penny as he would be born on January 23 1951 (in Friends it's March 23) and she would be born February 20 1962 (in The Secret of Parker House it's October 31 1963). Also the yearbook in Jerico Games should be ignored since it says 1968. Mac couldn't have been graduated than if he was born in 1952.

So here goes. smile.gif

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

In order to set this timeline, I'm going off on assumptions, theories, facts, legends and mentions that come straight from the show. For starters I will assume that every assignment takes at least a week. Flightplans are being calculated from LAX unless seen otherwise. With every episode that is set only during the day, I will assume that that day coincides with the day of the airing. If an episode is set over the course of several days I'll conclude that the final scene takes place on the day of the airing as much as possible. It might not always be the case, it could depend on the day of the airing and there will be conflicts that shakes up the timeline so some things might be set earlier than the actual airdate. MacGyver also seems to be working a lot on weekends.

Here goes. At last!

Pilot
1961-1962. At the age of 9 or 10 MacGyver wants to ride a golden palomino from Old Man McGinty who got him from a trade. Probably before his dad and grandmother died.

Between Monday September 23 and Saturday September 28 1985 MacGyver travels to Mongolia to save a pilot. MacGyver flight takes 12 hours and 24 minutes and 6077 miles (9781 km). On Sunday September 29 1985 Mac travels to Bannon, New Mexico to rescue survivors from an underground lab. Bannon is a fictitous location. So taking a flight from L.A. to the capital of New Mexico takes 1 hour and 46 minutes and 708.4 miles (1140 km). So it's quite possible for Mac to go out and get back in one day in flight.

The Golden Triangle
Between Monday September 30 1985 and Saturday October 5 1985 MacGyver retrieves stolen documents from a car wrecking yard. On Sunday October 6 1985 Mac saves a village in Burma and retrieves a cannister. Let's assume Mac took a flight to Yangon Ragoon. The largest city in Burma. The flight lasted 16 hours and 01 minutes and was 7976.5 miles (12837 km) long. MacGyver has a cousin named Allie who had a dog.

Thief of Budapest
Saturday March 13 1954: The KGB (Committee for State Security) is formed in the Soviet Union. It became the main security agency for the Soviet Union. It falls apart in November 1991. MacGyver has several run-ins with the KGB during his time as a field operative. (This also goes for: The Enemy Within, The Escape, A Prisoner of Conscience, Soft Touch, Lost Love, GX-1, Fraternity of Thieves, MacGyver - Trail To Doomsday.)

Between Monday October 7 1985 and Sunday October 13 1985 MacGyver travels to North-Africa probably Tunesia to retrieve a stolen horse. It takes 13 hours and 12 minutes and 6533. 7 miles (10515 km) MacGyver saves a gypsy family from Budapest to Austria. The night before on Saturday October 12 1985 he meets Reena who gives him the watch back and Major Kosov. (See Lost Love) Mac must've travelled immediately to Budapest after returning the horse. So he probably left from Tunis to Budapest. A short plane trip from 2 hours and 04 minutes and 864.3 miles (1391 km). There he helped a Gypsy family to defect. They escaped Major Kosov who got punished over his failure and was sent to the Gulag where he met Lisa Kohler, a former love of MacGyver. He protected and cared for her.

The Gauntlet
1959-1960. Mac was 7 or 8 when he and his dad takes a truckload of apples to a market in another town where the lynching of an innocent man took place. As a kid Mac had a Cub Scout den mother called Mrs. Fryfogel who taught him backwood common sense like don't drop crumbs on trail because you never know what kind of critter might right behind you picking them up.

Between Monday October 14 and Saturday October 19 1985 MacGyver steal a map back in the Middle-East. The name is never mentioned so it's probably Saudi-Arabia. The flight takes 16 hours and 34 minutes and is 8251 miles long (13279 km). MacGyver and Kate are running from San Sebastian, Guatemala for the Mexican border. The flight lasts 04 hours and 41 minutes and is 2194 miles (3531 km) long. The day before on Sunday October 20 1985 he meets her getting her out.

The Heist
Sunday November 3 1985. MacGyver and the senator's daughter steals back 60 million dollars worth of diamonds. The night before on Saturday November 2 1985 Mac goes into the casino's vault to steal them. The night before Friday November 1 1985 MacGyver arrives on The Virgin Islands. Probably a day earlier or earlier that day MacGyver meets Chris' father. Thursday October 31 1985 (there is no sign however from Halloween). MacGyver leaves from Washington D.C. and the flight take 03 hours and 33 minutes and is 1617 miles (2602 km) long.

Trumbo's World
Between Monday November 4 1985 and Thursday November 7 1985 MacGyver goes to the Pyrenees to rescue a scientist. A trip taking 11 hours and 48 minutes and is 5819.8 miles long (9366 km). Sunday November 10 1985. MacGyver is fighting soldier ants in the jungle with Trumbo. The day before on Saturday November 9 1985 Charles Alden dies while MacGyver and Trumbo are rescuing a woman in a village who's trapped under a canoe. Friday November 8 1985 they arrive at his plantation. The day before they leave for his plantation on Thursday November 7. It is never mentioned where exactly in the Amazon Trumbo's plantation is. Mac later revisits the area a lot. He's also going to Colombia, Barraca and Lima. I estimate the closest is Chocò, Colombia. So I think he travels to their and takes a smaller aircraft to where he meets Charlie. So I guess he went from L.A. to Colombia, Bogota in a 7 hour and 12 minutes flight and is 3480.3 miles (5601 km) long. Assuming from there it wouldn't take long to get in the jungle.

Last Stand
Aired on Sunday November 17 1985. MacGyver wants to go fishing in an old place his dad used to take him. He drove to Sparrow Ridge Airport to ask directions to drive to Sparrow Lake. He was there by car. A ride that would last 7 hours and 15 minutes over a distance of 275.86 miles (714,47 km). I think we can assume Mac left the day before since the whole episode is set during the morning.

Hellfire
1978-1984. It is a mere guess but it is possible since Bill says that it's 'been a while' since he had seen Mac that at least 8 years could've passed since their hellfighting days. I take it they did some hellfighting in Sumatra where Bill arrived from Texas with his hat and his ten gallon boots to put up a party not even knowing where Sumatra was. They probably meet Laura there as well. Some time later after MacGyver and Bill part ways Billy marries Laura. Before their reunion with MacGyver Bill gets hurt during hellfighting in which three of his men dies. Bill ends up for three months in the burn ward. He gives up hellfighting for Laura and they would buy land in Wyoming and drill it looking for oil, putting all the money in it but if it doesn't work out Bill goes back hellfighting.

Aired on Wednesday November 27 1985. Mac visiting his friends who struck oil probably over the weekend. So this is probably starts on Friday November 22 1985. They get dynamite from an old mine on Saturday November 23 1985 and return back to the oil well Sunday November 24 1985. Apparenty Bill and Laura are drilling in Wyoming. Mac arrives by helicopter in a 02 hour and 08 minute flight over 894.77 miles (1440 km). There is a mention that Bill and Mac has seen each other in Sumatra years before, probably on a hellfighting mission. It takes 17 hours and 59 minutes to fly to Jakarta and is 8973.2 miles long (14441 km). Then probably the rest of the trip on a smaller aircraft to Sumatra.

The Prodigal
Between Monday November 18 1985 and Sunday November 24 1985, a kid in Frank Bennett's offices dies from drugs his brother Joey sells.

The airdate of this episode is Monday December 8 1985. When Mac is in Wyoming Frank Bennett visits his mother in the hospital. Mac meets Frank Bennett on a Sunday who will testify against his brother Joey and MacGyver has to take care of his security. Frank gets kidnapped by Joey and his men, when Frank doesn't returns Joey's calls. Joey wants to know why Frank turned his back on him. Frank tells him a kid died in his office because of the drugs he's been selling. Joey says it happens but Frank wants him to shut it down and says he's ashamed. Joey doesn't take it lightly and scoffs him for talking to a marshall. He says they can't trust him and can't let him go. Frank dares him to kill him. Joey keeps taunting him on how Frank never wanted to know anything or where all the money came from. Joey says it came from their father and is ready to kill him when Mac comes out to get Frank. Back home Frank is picked up by Wylie to testify. Frank asks MacGyver to visit his sick mother in the hospital, in which he inclines. He visits Frank's mother and she asks him to bring Frank to her. The Marshall however does not want to let Frank go so MacGyver creates a diversion to get Frank out and bring him to his mother. He sabotages one of their cars and makes a smoke screen with dry ice, then he rents a tow-truck and follows the sabotaged car. He finds Frank and takes him to his mother. When they return to the hospital they find out, Joey has taken her home to die. They go to Joey's home where they find their way in. Frank goes in willingly to say goodbye to his mother. When she died Frank signals Mac to come in the house and get him out of there which he does, together they escape the attic when the cops arrive. MacGyver later arranges that Frank can go into the witness relocation programme. This is probably Saturday December 7 1985, since Mac was able to rent a tow-truck.

Target MacGyver
1946. Harry's black Chevy pick-up truck is manufactured. The original color is black. MacGyver has it later washed and repainted in yellow and brown.

1967-1969. Harry leaves without saying goodbye. Even though Mac says he hasn't seen Harry since he was ten. Harry takes a construction job in Alaska. Assuming he took a plane, he flew for 04 hours and 05 minutes over a distance of 1889.9 miles (3041 km).

Between Monday December 9 1985 and Friday December 20 MacGyver rescues a lady general and takes out a nuclear power plant in the Middle-East. It's unknown where in the Middle-East. MacGyver visits his grandfather over the weekend before Christmas. At that point he lives in Colorado, Montana. MacGyver takes the bus for that. A 16 hour busride? He arrives Friday December 20 1985, they go fishing the next day and are hunted down by Axminster on Saturday December 21 1985. They spend a night in a deserted town called Evermore. On Sunday December 22 1985 they deal with Axminster and cohorts. Mac leaves later that day. MacGyver claims he hasn't seen his grandfather since he was 10 and 16-17-18 years has passed. That would make MacGyver 26-27-28 years old which is impossible in 1985 if he was born in 1952. Agents from the DXS starts disappearing. (Check The Enemy Within)

Nightmares
MacGyver travelled from Los Angeles to East Berlin. A flight taking 11 hours and 46 minutes over a distance of 5806,7 miles (9345 km). MacGyver spend ten days on a ship from East-Germany to the San Pedro Harbor in Los Angeles after retrieving a microfilm. This was from Monday January 6 till Wednesday January 15 1986. It is unknown how long he was in East Germany to retrieve the list. At least a week or longer. Maybe between Monday December 23 or Tuesday 24 1985 and Sunday January 5 1986.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

Deathlock
1975-1979. MacGyver runs into Quayle while doing an assignment. He has stolen a planeload of military computers. MacGyver stole the plane back. Pete does not know Quayle in Deathlock so this is probably set before they have met. So MacGyver could've been working for the government even before he met Pete or it happened during his Vietnam days.

Between Thursday January 16 1986 and January 21 1986 Mac travels to East Germany to reunite a family. Somewhere in that week Quayle asks to nail MacGyver and sets up the safe house when he returns on January 22 1986. Pete mentions he met Mac in the wadi Nafud desert. This was probably also the camel smuggler assignment. This story conflicts with the Partners episode. But for the sake of it if Mac was on a mission there it would take him 16 hours and 34 minutes and is 8251 miles long (13279 km). It's not that far from his assignment in The Gauntlet. Pete became Deputy Chief of the Department. Karen's brother works for Pete, he had an assignment in Czechoslovakia. MacGyver and Quayle met each other before when Quayle worked for the British but sold them out to the Russians and double-crossed the Russians for the Ayatollah. MacGyver ran into him when tried to move a planeload of stolen military computers. MacGyver stole the plane back. Quayle had been severly punished for that and was looking for revenge. Pete however does not seem to know Quayle let alone what happened so it's probable MacGyver and Quayle go back before he met Pete.

Flame's End
1970-1973. While in college MacGyver, Tim Wexler and Amy Austin are studying at Western Tech. MacGyver and Amy are dating and they used to be one word. They have their beach which had palm trees. Before summerbreak MacGyver has some big news. He arranged that he can become a cook on a freighter ship in the Adriatic Sea and can take Amy with him. They've talked about travelling but she wonders how he will get his degree. She however intends to go and work in the nuclear processing plant they're building ten miles down the coastline saying they will need people with science degrees saying they could have a real future there together. But MacGyver says his motivations to study physics was because he thought it was interesting and excited him not to buy himself a job. She prefers a life she can count on. So does he but on them together and different than everyone else. She didn't knew he was serious about going to Adriatic Sea. He wonders if it's crazy to finding out who he is. She tell him that he just ought to go. After that they break up.

Flame's End is set on a Sunday. The airdate of the episode is Wednesday January 29 1986. That Sunday can be January 26 1986. He arrives (in Minnesota?) the day before Saturday January 25 1986 Amy calls him the night before Friday January 24 1986. Later in the episode she claims that three days earlier she found secret documents about an uranium theft. So this must have happened on Thursday January 23 1986. Assuming MacGyver returns to Minnesota by plane it takes him 03 hours and 07 minutes over a distance of 1403.7 (2259 km).

Countdown
1971-1973. Mike Donahue ran the 227 bomb squad out of Da Nang and led the entire sabotage group in Cam Rahn Bay which resulted in losing his leg. Couple of years before Mac and Charlie's time in 'Nam.

1974-1975. Mac and Charlie were enlisted in the Vietnam war as a bomb disposal team taking on the Ling Chow bomber. Together they disarmed 51 bombs. This was probably during the last years of the war 1974-1975 since Mac won the barricade contest of 1973 at Western Tech (See Hell Week). If so and Mac shipped out from Los Angeles assuming it was on a (military) plane probably to Da Nang airport it took him 15 hours and 43 minutes to get their over a distance of 7819.3 miles (12584 km).

Wednesday February 5 1986, MacGyver and Charlie travels to a cruise in the pacific to disarm bombs. They take a plane to Midway which lasts 5 hours and then a helicopter (Huey Chopper) to the cruise which takes 2 hours. 3 hours remain to disarm the bomb. It was a seven hour trip over a ? distance.

The Enemy Within
Saturday March 13 1954: The KGB (Committee for State Security) is formed in the Soviet Union. It became the main security agency for the Soviet Union. It falls apart in November 1991. MacGyver has several run-ins with the KGB during his time as a field operative

1985. A man named Brudin from Belgrade died from an injection of air bubbles into the arteries. It is unknown if this has anything to do with the assignment in Belgrade mentioned by Mac in A Prisoner Of Conscience.

Between Thursday February 6 1986 and Sunday February 9 1986 MacGyver travels to East Germany again. His partner Craig Bannister was already there for a month. MacGyver has been three times in East Germany in hardly a month himself. Was this a bigger assignment? Did they meet? MacGyver probably returns home on Monday February 10 1986 or maybe Tuesday the 11th so the ending can coincide with the day of the airing. Wednesday night February 12th. Four agents also disappeared in seven weeks, since the holidays of 1985. Mac mentions the death of a Brudin from Belgrade. If Mac was in Belgrade it would take him 12 hours and 57 minutes to get there over a distance of 6411.3 miles (10318 km). This must've been over more than a month ago. Mac is also in the middle of a move. To get as far as he is in the episode in moving he should've at least started packing when he came back from Minnesota in Flame's End but this wasn't the case yet in Countdown. So Countdown must've happened sooner? Between Monday January 27 and Wednesday February 5? Mac presumably moved to the 2nd season loft in the meantime.

Every Time She Smiles
Between Thursday February 13 1986 and Tuesday February 18 1986 MacGyver broke his hand when skiing in the Swiss Alps. Probably Sankt Moritz (St. Moritz). It would take him 12 hours and 10 minutes to get there over a distance of 6014.3 miles (9679.0 km). On the way home MacGyver is in Bulgaria doing a little errand on Tuesday February 18 1986. Picking up a microfilm and meets Penny Parker at the airport. Probably he left from St. Moritz to Bulgaria. A flight lasting 01 hours and 46 minutes over a distance of 714.58 miles (1150 km). Wednesday February 19 1986 they escape to Greece. MacGyver is born on Tuesday January 23 1951. Penny is born on Tuesday February 20 1962. Penny was about to celebrate her 24th birthday. (This later conflicts with Friends and The Secret of Parker House.)

To Be A Man
Wednesday March 5 1986, MacGyver is in Afghanistan trying to retrieve documents from a fallen sattelite. Tuesday March 4 Mac wakes up after another good night's sleep. This is said by the Afghan mother that he slept an whole night again. So this means two days had passed since he got shot down by the Soviets. This means Mac flew into Afghani airspace on Sunday March 2 1986 local time. Pete was monitoring him in the States where it was still daytime so it had to be Saturday March 1 1986 there. Mac was piloting a military aircraft on his own. It is unknown from where he took off but if it was from L.A. it would take him at least 15 hours and 26 minutes over a distance of 7677.7 miles (12356 km). Since it was a military aircraft he could've gotten their sooner, all depending from where he left. This is besides the ETA from Los Angeles to Kabul.

Ugly Duckling
1969-1970. Kate Lafferty is born. Estimating her being 16-17 years old at the time of the episode. Probably around the same time Mac was following Professor Willis' classes.

Wednesday March 12 1986. MacGyver and Kate prevents an rocket launch from hitting a bridge. They were stolen the night before and professor Willis got killed. Possibly on Tuesday March 11 1986.

Slow Death
1985. Dr. James Grant is working in a hospital in London as a surgeon and a was a very good one when a wild-eyed man drugged out of his mind bursts into his operating room carrying a sawed-off shotgun. Trying to calm the man down and extending his arm to take the sawed-off shotgun away, the man fires it, disintegrating James' arm completely. Since it still bothers him on the train this must have been a recent injury.

Wednesday April 2 1986. Mac's train is hijacked in India after trying to intercepting plans for a guerrila raid. He takes the train on Tuesday April 1 1986. It is unknown how long he was India. The train was on his way to Rajamehar. Probably a fictitious location. So it's hard to pinpoint where in India MacGyver was. If he travelled to Dehli it took him 16 hours and 04 minutes over a distance of 8000 miles (12875 km). There are three weeks between the two episodes. But I assume the assignment took at least a week. So the assignment could've taken place between Wednesday March 26 1986 and Wednesday April 2 1986. There's a gap of two weeks between the assignments.

The Escape
Saturday March 13 1954: The KGB (Committee for State Security) is formed in the Soviet Union. It became the main security agency for the Soviet Union. It falls apart in November 1991. MacGyver has several run-ins with the KGB during his time as a field operative.

1981. François Villar is arrested for not bribing a judge in 1981.

Wednesday April 16 1986. Mac breaks out Brian Ashford out of Harosh Prison in North Africa. The day before he has himself arrested on Tuesday April 15 1986. Two weeks had passed since his assignment in India, it's possible Mac briefly went home to rapport his assignment and was than send to North Africa to bring medicines to Sister Ann at the orphanage. Probably between Wednesday April 9 1986 and the day of his arrest April 15 1986. There is still a week in between. Mac mentions an earthquake hit the country, probably the reason why Mac brought medicines to the orphanage. It is unknown where MacGyver is in North Africa. This could either be Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morroco, Sudan, Tunisia or Western Sahara. My guess would be Algeria, Libya, Morroco or Sudan. No earthquakes took place there in the 1980's. So it could be about a fictional earthquake. The only activity there in 1986 was that America attacked Tripoli, the day before. So it's probably not Libya either. I assume it's Algiers (who knows might makes sense to meet a Frenchman there since it's the only country in North Africa where they speak French) and took 12 hours and 42 minutes over a distance of 6278.3 miles (10104 km). Five years earlier François Villar is arrested for not bribing a judge in 1981.

A Prisoner of Conscience
Saturday March 13 1954: The KGB (Committee for State Security) is formed in the Soviet Union. It became the main security agency for the Soviet Union. It falls apart in November 1991. MacGyver has several run-ins with the KGB during his time as a field operative.

Wednesday April 30 1986. MacGyver meets Pete in Russia, to find a political prisoner in Leningrad to get him out. The day before they are in speedboat chase in Moscow, Tuesday April 29 1986. MacGyver claims he travelled 10,000 miles to see Pete. That means he travelled from Los Angeles to Moscow, Domodedovo in 12 hours and 21 minutes which is actually 6106.6 miles far (9827 km). This could also be Monday April 28 1986. It takes 9 hours and 53 minutes to drive from Moscow to Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and is a distance of 472.32 miles. (760.13 km) MacGyver also remembers Belgrade again. Don't change the timing during an assignment. This could be the same assignment remembered in The Enemy Within.

The Assassin
Somewhere in 1985 Piedra has killed an government minister in Central America using curare.

Wednesday May 7 1986. MacGyver is chasing an assassin called Piedra who did 14 assissinations in eight different countries. He kills Terry's sister Lila who worked as a callgirl. Terry wanted her sister out of there but when she dies she would become a callgirl herself to find him. The next day Piedra goes to a clock store where MacGyver is waiting for him. Piedra ordered a timer and comes to collect. MacGyver says, he can help him, curious what's he going to use it for. He says it makes no different. When Mac is making adjustments, Piedra tries to kill him. Mac has the upperhand in the fight but when Piedra kicks him through a clock, it looks bad for moment until Pete walks in hitting Piedra unconscious. They hold Piedra for a while in his hotelroom where they're conducting a search for all his weapons. Terry receives a number from the Madame to call for the escort service which is the number of the hotelroom. She makes the call and MacGyver answers taking in Piedra's place and they set up a meet. Piedra used callgirls to do his pickups and then he kills them. Terry thinks however MacGyver is Piedra and tries to kill him. He stops her telling her Piedra is in a cell, but finds out later that he escape in killed all the agents. He's about to assassinate an arch-bishop. When MacGyver arrives they think he's the killer and needs to convince them otherwise. Piedra is however disguised but so is Mac as the arch-bishop. Piedra attacks him again and MacGyver chases him down. Piedra blows a dart at him. They have a brief fight but when Mac uses a hose to trip Piedra, Piedra falls on the dart he blew at Mac and dies himself.

Good start but here's some constructive ideas...

Timelines MUST be in chronological order... hence the name - a line of time from start to finish. What you currently have is trivia for each episode.

It needs to be a line of time with the information placed at the correct time mark on the line so it makes sense, otherwise it's just facts jumping around all over the place.

On here you could simply place the dates with the information beside it for now.

1985 - Sept - blah blah
1986 - April - blah

Also I wouldn't' put things like when the KGB was established because it's not actually related to MacGyver it's like putting in when Jeep first started because that's what he drives or when the US was first formed because that's the country he lives in, or what years the G2 flight jackets were first used because MacGyver wore one sometimes. You get what I mean? If you don't stick to his life events it's a never-ending spider-web of confusion and unrelated facts.

Thanks, Kiwi. I just wanted to 'document' everything possible that was related directly or indirectly to him because at some point he deals with it in his life, like the KGB. But you say if it's too irrelevant, I'll edit it out. I have some massive editing to do than. I think I'll just edit everything out that was merely mentioned like all the players in Squeeze Play. Those were 30 players I looked up to, found out about their births, deaths, first and last games. One of them was even married to Marilyn Monroe. It always bothered me with maybe too irrelevant? And there are like many other things I can edit out. Some trivia stuff might be fun but too much is of course too much.

Right now I just thought by example it would be easier to go by episode first and give each episode it's small portion of the timeline before going chronologically.

I'll just make a second document and list everything I edit out I considered too irrelevant.

This is what I've edited out so far. These are mostly people who establishes organizations that are also dealt with in the MacGyver universe. Some of them aren't even seen or mentioned on the show but since what they have achieved in their lives and made into the show one way or the other, I thought it was worth it to check out the origins, that's why I added them to the timeline. I can always put things back, I have a back-up.

The dinosaur reference from Deadly Dreams and Prometheus Syndrome.

The origins of the Orion constellation and the first recording of the name Rigel from The Visitor. I might change this one though because I like the legend around it.

The birth of Julius Caesar. I added it because he is mentioned in Legend of the Holy Rose. I also edited out the start of the Spanish Inquisition mentioned by Erich Von Leer and the development of the pendulum torture. I also left out the life of Edgar Allen Poe who wrote a book about it and a book by Juan Antonio Llorente called the History of the Spanish Inquisition which included the pendulum torture.

The birth and death of Alexandre Dumas. Mentioned by Mama Colton in Squeeze Play. I still needed to look further into that, but I guess it's a irrelevant.

The birth and deaths of Sundance Kid, Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid. I know Mac dreamed about Billy the Kid and Sundance Kid in MacGyver's Women. Maybe the dreams are irrelevant though I consider them dreams about Mac's previous life. There is however no decent time reference in the dream. I have set the dream in 1877 to have at least some leverage because the real Billy The Kid was shot by Pat Garrett in 1881. If I set the dream directly after Serenity Billy would've only been a boy and Sundance only an infant. Considering this is Sundance Kid we're talking about There would've been no way Sundance was a grown up. So I gave him Dale Wilson's actual birthday and age. I might change my mind on this though.

I've also edited out the life of the man who came up with DDT-insecticide mentioned by Caspar Kasabian in Bitter Harvest.

Carl Gustav Jung is out even though he is mentioned in Deadly Dreams and the book he wrote on Man and his Symbols by MacGyver.

Leon Trotsky and Semyon Aralov the founders of RU which becomes the GRU from For Love Or Money are out.

President Harry S. Truman who will approve nuclear weapons and created the CIA is out. Also the day that CIA was created is out. (Dalton Jack of Spies, Honest Abe, The Wall)

The births, deaths, first and last games of all the players mentioned in Squeeze Play are out with exception of Reggie Jackson and also Hank Aaron for his cameo in Back From The Dead.

Wilhelm Zaisser and Erich Mielke the founders of the Stasi Agency are out. (The Wall)

Al Capone mentioned by Tubbs in The Lost Amadeus is out.

Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, the predecessor of Ceasescu is out. Not even mentioned or seen but I though it was interesting to have him since they knew each other. Also Ceasescu himself is out for the most part there are still a few mentions in the timeline and his life on the moment Romania collapses. (Humanity)

President Richard Nixon, who created the DEA is out. (Deep Cover)

Albert Schweitzer, Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy mentioned by George Frailey in Live and Learn are out.

Manuel Noriega mentioned by MacGyver in On A Wing And A Prayer is out.

The history of napalm is out. Napalm is mentioned in The Visitor and even goes further back than the Vietnam War.

The peoples mentioned by Jack Dalton in Lost Love as the 'Giants of our time' like Magic Johnson, Arnold Schwarzegger and Joe Montana are out.

The cook Johannes Wolfgang Puck mentioned by Cody in Harry's Will is out.

Pablo Escobar mentioned/referenced in Legend of the Holy Rose is out.

Also Jean-Claude Duvalier Baby Doc mentioned by MacGyver in On A Wing and a Prayer is out for now. When I rewatch The Walking Dead I might change my mind on that one.

The day Dragnet has started is also out. It was mentioned in Blood Brothers.

There is more but of which I'm not sure if it's that irrelevant or not. I'll post them later when I have time.

The following are things I'm not sure of it's relevant or not. These are also again the lives and deaths of a lot of people that achieved something in their lives and that has made it into the show one way or the other. Also the creations of a lot of organisations and even connections to other movie franchises. I have not edited them out yet.

The start of the survival of African species that MacGyver observes in Black Rhino.

The legend of the Black Corsage. I have doubts now but it might be interesting to know it's origins.

The legend of the Three Fates and the Vikings as we have learned in Lesson in Evil and Deadly Dreams. But I might keep that one though, I'd rather not touch the legends.

The birth and death of Antonio Stradivari who will make the violin known as The Lost Amadeus. This also includes the life of Wolgang Amadeus Mozart.

The life and death of Daniel Boone. Boone is mentioned by MacGyver in Final Approach.

The life and death of General Sherman. Also mentioned in MacGyver's dream in Serenity. I might keep it though since I consider the dreams as a previous life of MacGyver.

The life and death of Mata Hari. Mata Hari is mentioned by Natalia in Gold Rush. I can understand the mention because Mac probably thought she seduced him and than betrayed him.

The life and death of Adolf Hitler. MacGyver mentions Adolf Hitler in The Ten Percent Solution, considering the footage they show in the Phoenix lab and the mention of the ERR and also the crashed plane in Gold Rush, I consider it relevant though.

In The Challenge MacGyver mentions the racial segregations by the Jim-Crow laws which was about reversing some of the gained liberties for black peoples in 1964. Also interesting saying they date back to 1890 most of the time. I think it's pretty relevant to that episode.

The life and death of Hu Yaobang. It's actually his death that has led to the Tienamen Square massacre.

The life and death of Theodore Harold Maiman. He will invent the ruby laser. MacGyver says in Legend of the Holy Rose that it took us 740 years after Ambrose to come up with the laser. Maiman was the one who invented it.

MacGyver mentions a Crystal Lake in The Survivors. This has led me to believe that the universe of the Friday the 13th movies runs parallell with that one of MacGyver. In other words the MacGyver and Friday the 13th universe are the same. That's why I have also added Jason Voorhees' birth and death and the killings of the first movie. If the first ten movies takes place in the same universe others probably can too. An arm and glove was seen at the end of ninth movie and eventually Jason and Freddy Krueger clashed. For me that's reason enough to believe that also the Nightmare of Elm Street universe runs parallell with MacGyver. And there's also another one that might run parallell with MacGyver, see below.

For now I have also kept in the renaming of the RU into the GRU in it.

Major Krik mentions that Ceausescu has saved his parents from the Nazis during the war. Ceausescu spend most of the war in prison camps but in 1944 he became secretary of the Communist Youth Movement. I consider it relevant because it would only match with what Krik says about Ceausescu saving his parents. I also pointed out the birth of Major Krik. Just can't remember why I did that. Probably because he was already a grown man when Victor was only a boy. The day Ceasescu becomes president and the period in which Romania collapses is also on the timeline.

I also pointed out the end of WWII, the split of Germany, the start of the Cold War, the creation of the Mossad, the Stasi agency and the build of the Berlin Wall. Though also still in doubt of the KGB. Maybe we should get rid of all the real life organizations and stick with the ones created especially for the show like DXS and HIT.

The following is about what I wrote about running parallell universes, because on the day Penny Parker is born, October 31 1963, it is the same day Michael Meyers kills his sister in the movie Halloween and returns fifteen years later to kill his other sister and others as well. This was actually the first thing that for me connected to another franchise. It's a pretty prominent date in the movie as well as it is for the episode. Penny celebrates her 25th birthday, considering it was 1988. To me that fits. In The Survivors MacGyver mentions Crystal Lake which is the lake in which Jason drowned and since Jason fought with Freddy, I am inclined to believe Halloween, Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street universes runs parallell with that of MacGyver. Penny's birthday, Crystal Lake. Might sound stupid or dumb but to me these are the connections.

Next is the release of Carl Gustav Jung's book Man and his Symbols.

The death of the Geoffrey Stuart. The name is seen in the newspaper clip in Partners. Maybe it's just a fun piece of trivia. And for that matter also, I've added the name, birth and death of the man that is seen above the coffin in Halloween Knights.

I've added the day the security guard of Twice Stung started his career.

The creation of the DEA is also on the timeline.

The birth of Todd Williams. The name is mentioned by Lisa in Hearts of Steel when she goes shopping with Ingrid.

I also have the (estimated) year when Brian, Jimmy Kendall's grandson was born and when Vicki the pregnant girl in Live and Learn was born.

In Black Rhino Billy mentions a Romanov referring to a case Jesse and Frank could never solve. Romanov probably escaped six years before the events in Black Rhino with those Fabergé eggs. I think it's an authentic case and interesting since The Colton and MacGyver's universe actually runs parallell too.

for me if MacGyver didn't directly interact with it, it's not relevant.

Crystal Lake is a real place located in Illinois.

What was the context of the mention?

I think I can keep that in mind. Narrow things down and clean it up a bit.

MacGyver mentions Crystal Lake in The Survivors when they see the pictures of the waterplane, saying that Crystal Lake was the only lake in the area that was big enough for that plane to do take-offs and hide their drugs. I just thought it was an interesting idea. I figured, why not?
