Strictly Business was and allways will be one of my fav episodes and there are somethings here that stood out to me in this ep even more so when it came to murdoc because it was so different ..

1) murdoc sneaking into macs houes to make him dinner : ok i know him an mac are best enemies , and murdoc "simply wants to thank him "... soooo he chooses to do that byyy violating his home and literally setting up a elaborate dinner complete with candle light ,wine and a cupid ? i mean i dont know about my fellow fans, but just like our formothers when they saw spoke and kirk rolling around in the sand in amok time , i got some vibes here , it was like to murdoc this was some kind of sacred thing and if he was going to say good bye to it it had to be done right .

2) murdocs warning /facial expression while giving said warning : "Now I can hunt you with a clear conscience , but be warred your a target and i don't intend to miss " the fact that murdoc legitimately admits he wouldn't have felt right just killing mac without balancing them back out again, says something in itself , but the face he makes, mostly during the first statement really seems to expresses that unlike there other interactions murdoc is already not enjoying this one , he looks exasperated and maybe even a little regretful .


3) murdocs second facial expression when he "kills " macgyver : once again he looks regretful when he pulls the one liner "rest in pieces " hes not smiling or prod or smug like he always ever is , in fact he looks disgusted , like this isnt what he would have chosen if hed had a chose .

so there you have it , what say you fellow fans ? what did you get out of murdocs face and body language ? what thoughts were running through his head ? theses are all good questions i wish i knew how to analyze further .

Murdoc's face and body language mostly said 'Strictly Business'. The dinner was meant to get even. He never intended to kill Mac right there, he saved his life by releasing Mac from the shackles. I do think he held the dinner in high regard because he owed Mac. Like part of the gentlemen's agreement. And it was about honour. But I have seen no regret at all and I don't think he was enjoying himself because he had no reason to. He wanted to get back in the business and seemed to be prepared to do whatever is necessary. Murdoc wanted to become a hitman again with a clean record. Kill MacGyver and he would be re-hired. This is why this is Murdoc's best episode. He's not the scruffy truck driver we saw in Partners or the psychopath with the flamethrower from The Widowmaker and thankfully not the disguised director who needed to set up an entire music production just to get to Mac in Cleo Rocks. After surgery and a new haircut, I think Murdoc became all that he could be in this one. He was cold, ruthless, calculated and very determined. Regrets has got nothing to do with it. When he blew up Mac he looked like he was convinced he finally did it.

Since the Star Trek episode "Amok Time" was mentioned, I will give my thoughts on it.

It started very well. I thought the idea of Spock being placed in a really awkward position where he had to reveal something very, very personal was intriguing.

And then, as ever, the episode became more about Kirk. Because, well, duh, it was all about Kirk, most of the time. Kirk doing the fighting, Kirk doing the kissing, Kirk making a speech. The episode "By Any Other Name" had a part where everyone on the crew who wasn't part of the inner circle of white males got turned into geometric shapes. Bye-bye, Uhura and Sulu, you're not sufficiently interesting to the writers to be part of this story.

Plus, there is nothing logical about Vulcan marriage traditions. They're irrational and cruel.

Also, this made me suspicious about the times the doctor took about a second to pronounce that someone was dead. He knew he was wrong here ... so were there other occasions when he was wrong but didn't realise?

I liked T'Pring's outfit.

Offttopic: Star Trek's (TOS) Fight theme is a rip from Ravel's Bolero and well featured in Amok Time. It is a good episode, as is Strictly Business!!!!!
