Hi guys,
Long time since I have been active here but things got busy lately so...
I would like your opinion on some SAK tools which you consider more useful to have.
The reason I am asking is because I am thinking of building a custom SAK for myself since many times I wish I had a tool on a model which is present on another model...
Please give your opinions here and I appreciate if you could also vote in the poll.

Bert, I really think the Victorinox can opener/screwdriver is a must. You can do so many things with it. Beyond that, scissors (I like the Wenger scissors better, but that's just my opinion) and a good in line Philips screwdriver. The way things are going, most all screws are Philips head anyways. The rest is dependant on what you want to use the knife for. If it's a rural carry knife, a Vic saw is awesome. Urban wise, I love the Wenger pliers. The possibilities are endless! My other favorite forum (besides this one!) is www.multitool.org. Check out the Swiss Army Knights section and you'll find all kinds of people doing the same thing! Let us know how you make out!

I use the phillips and flat head screw drivers very much. Of course I use the large blade, can opener and scissors
Now technically I'm driving a stolen car following a kidnapping... and I didn't even get to have my first cup of coffee. (Mac) Your burning hot MacGyver... And so is Pete! ! (Murdoc) Does anyone have a knife?? Yes...it has lots of different blades (Macgyver music plays while mac examines the knief) ...I know Why are you taking your pants off?? You got a better idea? I'm still trying to figure out what yours is!!

Guys...
Thanks a real lot for your replies... They were VERY useful
As denizen and MACGYVERISMYDAD commented, I love the Phillips screwdriver.
Joe SAKic... I do not own a drone and I need an EDC knife so even though I own a CyberTool, that would be too big to fit in my pockets... thanks for the tip though
Barry Rowland... thanks a lot for the detailed information... Do you think the traditional can opener is more useful that the combo tool? Like the one on the Compact knife. I mean you can still open cans and operate phillips screws by inserting it at a 45 degree angle.
My idea was to mod a Victorinox Compact, adding another layer and add a inline Phillips head screwdriver and white LED and a backside reamer.

I think a near perfect SAK would be a Compact with a back strap Philips....you got it all then in one perfectly small package! I've seen it done, and that combo tool on the Compact does so many things well. Post pics when you finish it. Are you doing custom scales too?

Yeah, It's a bit bulky but I carry both the swisstool and cybertool in sheaths around my belt. Not much for a sak in my pocket, as I usually have my wallet on one side and my keys in the other.
The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination.
Whether you think you can or you can't .... you're probably right!

Thanks to all for your help...
I will have to check the cost first because I would be better carrying 2 knives (one in the pocket and one in my backpack) rather than spending a fortune to make a custom one.
However yes, as you guys and as those (really few) who voted in the poll said, I'd rather have a knife which has a reamer and phillips head screwdriver.
In fact, my EDC for more than 7 years now is a Tinker.

OK, a woman's perspective. The best SAK was the one I lost and I can't remember exactly what it included, but I know it was just ideal.
If I could put together a bespoke one it would have:
pliers scissors file Saw - just because it always looks useful flathead screwdriver - medium Phillips head screwdriver - medium large blade small blade tin opener bottle opener corkscrew - not for me, but for all those that can never find one tweezers
Short think........
Yup, I think that's it - those are what I tend to use and would be my ideal knife - if anyone knows if they already make it then please let me know.

Maclover, have I the knife for you: the legendary Swisschamp!! They aren't nearly as big as you would think, and actually carry very nicely. This pic is my son's SC next to a 58mm Mini Champ.

Phillips head and the small blade. Liked the scissors but haven't had them in years. Got a tiny MagLight hanging off the end of my knife now, I recommend it. The LED kicks ass.

If I never have to own a knife with a corkscrew in it again, it will be too soon.

I've been a Vic user for decades. My son picked up a Wenger Highlander and it kind of went from there. The thing I really like about Wenger is some of the unique features they have, like the safety screwdriver and the safety lock. I have to say I prefer the Wengers made after Victorinox picked them up. They just seem to be a little better quality. I just bought a Swiss Champ so I'm still in the Vic Club Drawz

I had one of the ridiculously large Wengers back in the mid-eighties. I did like the lock on the large blade, but the stuff like the nearly useless magnifying glass/"screwdriver" turned me off.

Or post a pic of it Denizen. I have a number of Wengers and can research it for you. The sites Bert posted are awesome resources!
You have a number of Wengers? I'll try not to think less of you. I'm strongly biased in favor of the Victorinox.
Nope. Just the one i bought ages ago. It was one with like every tool imaginable on it. And it sold for next to nothing which is why i bought it. Just nver been able identify it.
Speaking of which, thanks, Barry. Will try to take a pic of it and post.
My favorite without doubt is the Victorinox. I have several knives and recently purchased the Huntsman Lite with the improved LED. (Should be arriving on the weekend) along with my new car. (It's a new weekend - weekend for me)
