I'm intentionally not looking too closely at anything in this thread. During the first season, it was difficult for me to get immersed in the episodes because I saw too many behind-the-scenes shots in advance, so whenever they were supposed to be in another country or whatever, I always just remembered seeing how it was all set up. When I watched the original series, I used to get more immersed, and could more easily believe Mac was traveling around the world. I think at least part of that was due to the fact that I wasn't able to see behind-the-scenes footage in advance. But I'll be sure to come back to this thread later to look more closely at everything after the episodes air.
I'm kind of looking forward to season 2, though I don't really know why, considering that I wasn't impressed with season 1. Always the optimist, I guess....

Me too! I didn't particularly care for season 1, but I'm almost counting down the days til season 2 airs...

Funny thing, isn't it.
I still have a lot of complaints about the reboot - well not really complaints, but ideas what to change and/or to add to make it better in my eyes. I'm able to watch the episodes nowadays without getting all outraged and shouty-caps. Usually, I just laugh about the sheer ridiculousness of it
I'll never love the reboot as much as the original, but the cast and crew really grew on me and I think they do the best with the material (aka the scripts) and the budget that they've been given. The acting is fine for me. Locations could be better sometimes, but that's probably a budget issue. It's mostly the scripts and the characters that need to be written better.
It's really exciting to see #MacGyver on Twitter and the hashtag trending every time an episode airs. And the fact that so many people remember the original show and started watching it again; streaming it, buying the DVDs, visiting the Forums again etc.
I'm looking forward what's going to come. Also, I'm curious about the Easter Eggs and the MacGyverisms we might get to see.

This is an old one from August 28. I was never able to find it in better quality... it's from an Instagram Live Story by Justin Hires while he was doing ADR (=Automatic Dialogue Recording, so voice-over work and dubbing in the studio).

Think I forgot to post these (September 5). There weren't that many pictures and videos of the main cast, but mainly of Instagram Live Stories and/or Selfies from the Extras on the Nigeria Set.

I think it's a bit weird that there hasn't been a press release yet confirming her joining the main cast. They've already officially introduced all new additions for "Hawaii Five 0" (including stills and teaser clips).

Everytime I search through the vaults, I find stuff I haven't posted yet, sorry
These are Instagram Live Story Screenshots made on the day of the Eclipse (August 21, I think). They were posted by Tristin Mays (August 22) and Justin Hires (August 23).

I also think it is weird that when the cast has posted anything she has been left out although we catch glimpses that let us know she has been there the whole time. On one hand it is like the powers that be don't want to introduce her officially yet? Which like you said considering H50 is weird. I wonder if they think fans will think she is one more person to take away from Mac time? I really didn't want or see the need for yet another team member, but I hope they use her in a way that maybe allows the show to grow. I just know second season additions are often not well thought out. H5O's second season characters of Lori and Jenna were hated by fans and were gone by mid-season I believe. I grew to like the team as it was by the end of season 1. Now they are changing it again. I really think it goes back to that idea that they have an 'identity' crisis. I was hoping that would stabilize this season, but I guess only time will tell.

H50 just lost two of its main stars. It's possible they're worried about ratings (especially because there will be more competition on Fridays this season) and concentrate on promoting H50 instead.
I believe usually it's more important to promote a 2nd season of a show then a show that's already been established with great ratings every season, but the controversy about the reasons why Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim had left the show could truly hurt the show and its future.

I think she might serve as another field agent because Bozer and Riley shouldn't be in the field anyway. They're not agents and it never made sense that Riley joined the missions since the 2nd episode. She didn't have any training yet.
Bozer and Riley could serve as the "B-Storyline"; sometimes staying back at Phoenix, sometimes joining the mission while the new agent joins Mac and Jack or one of them if the team gets split during a mission.
Also, CBS got a lot of flack for its shows relying on white-all-male-heroes. Adding another woman to Team Phoenix also ads the potential for more tension if they planned her as a love interest.
I don't like it either, but I would actually prefer her going on missions than Riley and (especially) Bozer.
