CBS does a horrible job of promoting Macgyver. And frankly, I believe Lenkov's focus is all Magnum. CBS should be advertising their Friday lineup. It really is frustrating and upsetting.

Well, in defence of Lenkov, I don't think he has much to say when it comes to the advertizing or the ad budget for his shows. That's all on CBS but yes, they really do a horrible job at promoting. Especially at promoting H50 and MacGyver.

Funny thing: Just read a tweet yesterday by a non-fan being surprised about there being a MacGyver reboot; mentioning they never heard of it and that CBS does a horrible job at promoting its own shows.

So it's not just us noticing.

Well yeah, without Justin we pretty much would have no BtS photos at all lately.

I have no clue what's going on. Cast and crew being very busy plus CBS trying to keep a lid on production. Not sure if it's related to the accident on set being investigated. I know Extras and guest-stars have to sign a confidentiality agreement; but that's been done since Season 1.

Don't know why this lack of BtS material suddenly.

I am also curious about her character. According to her instagram, she has been in Atlanta during the filming of the Halloween episode and I think episode 6?? It would be good if there was some closure in her relationship with Mac given other characters simply disappear with no further explanation, but I don't see her fitting in any other way.

I'm kind of entertaining the idea of a little appearance plot twist - like MacGyver showing up bald or Riley getting pregnant or Jack with either bleached or red hair

But we all know CBS has a different idea of plot twists and surprises when it comes to Season premieres. Also, Lenkov kinda already spoiled the appearance plot twist (Mac wearing a beard).

Last Summer, there was a bit of secrecy going on as well for a while. Remember Justin filming on the Halloween set; stating he can't show us who's on set with them? We all thought it was probably David as Murdoc, but it was Isabel as Cage. They did a pretty good job at hiding her for the production of 6 episodes. We didn't even realize it when George spilled the beans by posting a photo with her.


So... in S2, the "big" changes were a new regular (Cage), new love interests for Bozer, Jack and Riley (Leanna / Dawn / Billy), a new male recurring who's kinda famous (Elwood) and two female recurring characters (Jill/Leanna), a big character reveal (Oversight) plus guest stars with ties to the Original (Bruce McGill / Michael Des Barres).

I'm assuming if the budget didn't change much, they will follow the same line.

We already have a new love interest (Nasha?) for MacGyver and will delve more into the other love interests and their stories (Leanna / Billy). So I'm guessing also maybe more family members; maybe from Jack's or Bozer's side? (Jack's sister, Bozer's parents). They could add a "famous" guest-star into those recurring roles.

Not sure which other guest star with ties to the original could show up. They kinda already used the best-known ones (since RDA has no interest and Dana Elcar is not available). Last "big" one would be Teri Hatcher, I guess.

I'm assuming the big mid-season or season-finale plot twist will have something to do with Oversight.

MDB made a rather interesting post on Twitter the other day which I think is a hint that he may be returning this season.

Firstly the comment "Rage and experience is a deadly combination" for me leans towards Helman being angry about Murdoc turning on him and shooting him and of course the experience will be him pulling out all the stops to deal with Murdoc and MacGyver.

The other thing that caught my attention was the hashtag 'bullet proof heart'... where did Murdoc shoot him?

And we also have the picture oh him in character as a final hint.

Now it should be noted that the tweet was directed at CBS All Access so this could just be wishful thinking on my part.. but seems odd timing considering he doesn't normally do any promotion of MacGyver.

I would love to see Des Barres return. Also with the pic of them all in black I'm wondering if something happens to Oversight like his last act is to sacrifice himself for his son. and how cool would it be for Bruce Willis to show up for a cameo

I sure wouldn't mind more Helman and MDB. And a cameo of Bruce Willis would be great but I don't think that's in the cards for us.

I could see something happening to Oversight, but maybe more as a Season Finale or in a later season. That would be very typical to TV show though, a character dying just after making up for his mistakes and/or MacGyver forgiving him.

According to Casting Calls, Oversight seems to be in more than one episode. Also, they listed an aerial stunt guy for Tate for the Season premiere. This stunt person does a lot of jumps out of planes and there was a helicopter on set of the Nigerian village. Now I have that picture in my mind of Oversight parachuting out of the chopper into the Nigerian village; crash-landing on the rooftop of Nasha's hut while she and Mac are snuggling

Unless it's doing it for free I can't see that happening... in fact I really don't think the budget would allow for any really big names to appear.

To be honest I rather they spent the budget on improving the quality of things like the CGI and greenscreen, because God knows they're pretty sub-par at the moment.
