I wonder if the quote he used in this photo is a hint to the character he's playing?
Hey Dash,Just curious...do we know for sure that George is definitely on set for 13 or 14? I guess I am almost hoping that episode 11 would be his last, because please, please for all the love don't marry him off in some stupid farce. That to me is not something Jack would do. Elope with Dawn? Possibly, but I don't want them to disgrace his character. Sigh. Maybe it is the writer in me, but this all just wreaks of bad, bad jump the shark possibilities. I almost would rather them kill him off in some way that he at least sacrificed himself for Mac or the team. That to me would be more fitting to this Jack Dalton.
Rid- PS, I appreciate all your posts, even ones I don't comment on.

Considering the Hollywood Reporter stated that George wanted to leave since S1, I think it's weird that they blew up the character of Jack to be so important and weren't willing to reduce his screentime earlier. Did they string him along; thinking then he would change his mind or suddenly stop missing his daughter when they put him on the poster and on the S2 DVD?
If they had intended to bring in Cage to take off some of his work load, both writers and casting decision people sure did a poor job. (I still think Cage could have worked if they've done it right.)
I feel like they should have been prepared better. I don't want to kill him off. After establishing the Mac-Jack-relationship as so important to Mac, they can't make him lose another important person in his life. That might have worked for a Season Finalel maybe, but not for midseason. If they had planned in advance, they could have made Murdoc kill off Jack, for example.
And the way they set up the character to be so important for the show in general, promoting it as a bromance instead of a team show, there's just no good reason for Jack to leave Mac and Riley behind. He already feels bad about bailing on Riley (that he considers his kid) and he knows about Mac's abandonment issues (who he considers a brother). No matter how they'll do it, I already know I won't like it
That's always a sign you might be in trouble if your dashboard is on fire... Currently blogging about the MacGyver Reboot on Dashboard On Fire

Oh my, I agree with all of this. It will be impossible to explain-at least believably-why Jack would abandon his family, when he has always said family was everything. It makes no sense, I think I agree with you that I wish almost that Murdoc would have killed him instead of Jill. Sigh.
