East Germany is a now-defunct state which was part of the Soviet-controlled Eastern Bloc during the cold war period which MacGyver found himself in on several occasions.
MacGyver’s first trip there was to collect information about terrorist activities for the DXS. He later returned to the Bloc on another assignment to collect information acquired by local agents. After collecting the information he found himself on the run from Soviet forces who had tracked him to the pickup point. Luckily he was able to escape them with the help of fellow DXS agent, Craig Bannister.
His third venture there was in search of a crashed plane with a top-secret experimental engine. Once there MacGyver found himself in a race against the Soviets who were also looking for the plane with the aid of their top psychic.
