After what seemed to be a long process, CBS has finally found their star for the MacGyver reboot.
25-year-old Lucas Till, best known as Havok in the X-Men franchise, will take over the title role from Richard Dean Anderson. Joshua Boone (from Fan Girl) has also joined the new MacGyver series as a regular, while George Eads (“CSI”) is set to co-star in the pilot as Lincoln, a conspiracy theorist who works for the government.
Joshua Boone will play the role of Gunner, MacGyver’s best friend from high school.
The casting announcements cap off a long search which was hindered by CBS picking up the pilot without a script and promptly changing writers while shortly after the announcement James Wan, who was set to direct the pilot, also dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
