Did ya know that MacGyver was born a year later then RDA?

MacGyver: 23 januari, 1951





Doesnt that just blow your mind?

No because, did ya know that, that is not true and that MacGyver was born 23rd of March 1952. Since his resignation letter was dated on March 23 in the Friends episode and that if you count back most of his life events as he stated them. Best example is the death of his father and grandmother. In Runners he said he was seven when his father died in 1962 as that was mentioned in Phoenix Under Siege. If he was seven when his father died, he would've been born in 1955. In Passages he tells Harry he hasn't seen his dad since he was 10. Car accident: 1962, Mac being 10 at the time, he would've been born in 1952. Also when he mentions his hockey coach Turk Donner won a trophy in 1960, he said he was 8 at the time, so we're back in 1952.

RDA is 2 years and 2 months older than Mac is.

Well, either way, MacGyver is a little bit younger than Richard Dean Anderson, which I suppose is good because it gives him a bit longer life. (i.e. I think actors tend to portray characters that are younger than they actually are sometimes if they look the part- and usually they can fake a couple of years- thus, as the actor naturally ages, the character can stay a bit younger and still give the actor a bit longer time to portray the character. And then you have some huge anomalies that you might never have guessed if you didn't already know- like Ralph Macchio's age in "The Karate Kid" (22!) and Alan Ruck's age in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (pushing 30!)

Well some of us (like me) own all 7 seasons and have an 8 year old to watch Mac with. And I've read most of the episode and character posts, and I get to watch Mac late at night and write on it. Like right now I am watching a 6th season episode titled High Control. My kid is on the way to bedtime so I can do this.

I recommend getting Mac seasons, reading the other posts on this site, reading other sites, and memorizing everything you can about MacGyver. Most of us also write stories or fanfiction with MacGyver characters. Mine is just for me, and is now at 706 pages.

I write on the site very early in the morning and at night when my kids are in bed. All of us are kind of like that. We have lives, so weekends are slow, but we make time in our down time.

Celica, you're right! Several people here (definitely not me) have instant recall when it comes to MacGyver. VERY impressive! I learn a lot reading here. It's a great site.
