I saw on the event calendar MACG"s BD is listed as 3/23. I thought in the episode where he shows his passport (with first name covered) his BD was 1/23 the same as RDA's except MACG's was a year later. Can someone help with this issue?

I have looked over the discussions suggested. I am not sure anyone has addressed the issue I mentioned. In episode 16 "Every Time She Smiles" at the 14 minute 50 second point on the DVD MacG's passport is revealed with his first name concealed. His BD on the passport is 1/23/51. Has this been addressed or ruled out in some way as his BD?

There was a discussion at one point, which I can't find just at the moment, where we talked about that birthday on that passport and I believe it was ruled out as one of the many inconsistencies of the first season.

There were 3 main reasons for ruling it out.

1. Season 1 has a number of inconsistacies because it was the "teething" season and they hadn't really worked out the characters background. Remember in the first season we also see MacGyver shooting a gun and meeting Pete Thornton for the first time in a desert. Both of these issues were contradicted in later seasons.

2. It was the only time we ever saw that date as his birthday. In Season 2 we're presented with a new birthday date.

3. Most of the major life events mentioned throughout the show can be calculated back to the March 23 1952 date. So because we have multiple events which calculate back to this date it would indicate that the date seen in Every time she smiles was truly a one off for the first season.


Update: I haven't been able to find the original post about the date in the passport, so maybe it was lost in the "Crash of 07"

he might have had a fake passport with DXS that had a different birthday for some odd reason.

"Hello, DXS, we caught one of your agents, MacGyver, he was born 23/01/51"

"oh that can't be one of ours, MacGyver was born in 23/03/52! You must have a different MacGyver, not at all related to ours..."

Now that's an interesting twist. It actually flows quite nicely with the idea of the Camel story about how Mac and Pete first met being a cover for security reasons.
