This document describes the terms on which MacGyver Online offers you access to its site and online community (“forums” or “community”). MacGyver Online reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Once an amendment has been made we will notify all members via the Community News and Updates forum. If at any time you decide that you no longer agree to these terms of service you may freely leave our community by following the instructions found here.
Member conduct.
You agree to adhere to the rules and guidelines listed in the Community Code of Conduct without question and agree to abide by any additional and/or future rules, amendments, or directives put in place or issued by the administrators of this site.
Proper use.
You agree to not use this site or forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, invasive of a person’s privacy, pornographic, excessively violent, or otherwise violates any other applicable laws. Or to use the forums or any of the services provided, for, or in connection with, tampering, hacking, trolling, spamming, modifying, or otherwise corrupting the security or functionality of these forums or any other system or device.
You also agree not to access or attempt to access, any of the provided services by any means other than through the interfaces provided by MacGyver Online unless you have been specifically allowed to do so in a separate agreement with MacGyver Online.
Multiple Accounts
Each member may only have one registered account at any time. Multiple accounts may be terminated at the administrator’s discretion.
Email account validation.
Email accounts are used to verify and validate your forum profile. We also may use email to distinguish between active and dead accounts which are then either deleted or diactivated. For this reason, we suggest maintaining an active email address in your profile.
(Your email address is only visible to system admins.)
Abandoned forum accounts.
Any forums account which is left inactive for a period of 12 months or more may be considered abandoned and may be terminated as deemed appropriate by administrators of this community.
Likewise, newly registered accounts that show no activity within the first month of registration may be considered spam or abandoned accounts and may be terminated as deemed appropriate by administrators of this community.
Ownership of posts.
While you retain full ownership and accountability, of all your posts and their related content, you grant MacGyver Online a non-revocable full and perpetual license to use, display, store, copy, archive, move, edit, delete, quote, or otherwise alter or adapt any post and related contents you make in any way deemed necessary for the normal operation and/or administration of this community, including for promotional purposes across affiliated social media networks.
In the event of an account being terminated or deactivated (voluntarily or as the result of disciplinary action) MacGyver Online shell retain the above full and perpetual license on all posts and related content associated with the terminated account.
Fan fiction stories
When posting your fan fiction stories you grant MacGyver Online a separate non-exclusive right to publish, store, archive, backup, or move your fan fiction as deemed necessary by the administrators of this site. The non-exclusive publishing right ends when your work is removed from our forums.
You also accept that if your fan fiction work is deemed to be in violation of the fan fiction rules or our Code of Conduct, it may be deleted.
You understand that although you may delete your fiction work, and in so doing, remove MacGyver Online’s right to further publish that work, it may still remain in our database backups for the remaining cycle period of up to 1 year, and in the event of a restore ever being needed, your work may be accidentally restored. In this case, simply contact us to have the work removed again.
Freedom of speech.
Although you have the right to freely express your opinions on this site, it must be done in compliance with our Code of Conduct and this Terms Of Service agreement.
Privacy policy.
By using our forums you consent to the collection, storage, and use of member information as set forth in our privacy policy.
Limitation of Liability.
While the administrators and staff of this site do try to make sure rules and guidelines are followed, the “real-time” nature of this online activity means they are not always able to prevent or remove inappropriate information or messages from being displayed and therefore can not be held responsible for the content, accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any user submitted content.
All user posts should be considered the opinions of the respective authors and not that of the administrators or owners of this site.
Account termination and deactivation.
You understand and agree that the administrators of this board may terminate and delete any account and associated posts they deem to be in violation of this agreement or any other website policy at any time.
You also understand and agree that you may freely deactivate your account at any time and for any reason via our unsubscribe form. Deactivated accounts will continue to have posts and account name showing in our forums but all other identifying information is removed and the account can no longer be used.
By posting in this community you agree to be bound by these terms of service.
