The original Jack Dalton is set to make an appearance in an upcoming season 2 episode of the MacGyver reboot according to CBS.
However, in what seems like a lost opportunity, it appears that his character won’t be associated with Jack Dalton in any way. He will instead play Detective Greer, a seasoned LAPD veteran who intends to charge MacGyver with domestic terrorism believing he is a bomb-maker responsible for blowing up a warehouse resulting in deaths.
“I was happy to make a guest appearance on MacGyver,” McGill said in a press release. “It’s unusual for an actor to be on the original series and then, 30 years later, be on a newer version. The cast and producers were warm and embracing, and I enjoyed being a part of the new show.”
