MacGyver’s bounty hunting friends will be given the reboot treatment in upcoming episode 16 of the CBS hit new show.
In the episode, titled ‘Hook’, MacGyver and Jack find a fugitive they are tracking has already been caught by the bounty hunting family, but they are unaware of how dangerous their prisoner is.
MacGyver fans will remember the Coltons from the original series as a family of bounty hunters, kept in line by their no-nonsense mother known as Mama Colton, which MacGyver meets while looking for Jack Dalton’s mother.
The rebooted version of the Coltons appears to stay fairly true to the original with the only differences seen so far being that Jesse is now a daughter and she is also the youngest of the 3 children with Billy now being the middle child. The original Coltons had Billy as the youngest and Jesse the middle child and both were males. Mama Colton remains the tough no-nonsense matriarch of the bounty hunting family.
There’s been no mention of whether ‘Frog’, the families pet bulldog, will make an appearance, although we did spot a mention on Facebook from a grooming service saying that they were grooming a dog for a meeting with MacGyver producers and that the dog could appear on TV. Also, Sheryl Lee Ralph made mention of Frog the dog in an on-set video where she talked about the new Coltons but neither posts gave any details or indication of whether the dog was to be included.
