The second instalment in MacGyver creator, Lee Zlotoff’s book series has gone on sale just in time for the Holidays season.
Titled ‘MacGyver: Seismic Shift’ the book is the second in a series planned to consist of at least 3 books following MacGyver’s adventures after the end of the original Richard Dean Anderson series – now a freelancer after having left the Phoenix Foundation, MacGyver is back to taking odd jobs for various government agencies with this second book seeing him take on a mission for the CIA in the Middle East only to discover the mission was not as it seemed, forcing him into a collision course with the Agency which gets worse when someone from his past appears in another Agency operation, setting off an international manhunt for both of them.
Zlotoff, who is co-authoring the books and now owns the MacGyver character, says of the book series “MacGyver is a large universe with plenty of stories that have yet to be told and adventures that will continue to thrill audiences of the original series, the reboot and readers just discovering the character.”
Although based after the series ended, the books are not able to include established characters from the show due to the copyright setup between Zlotoff and Paramount/CBS. While this means we wont see any fan favorites such as Pete or Murdoc turn up, the first book has shown us that there are still plenty of adventures in the MacGyververse with plenty of new characters to meet.
‘MacGyver: Seismic Shift’ is written by Zlotoff and Al Palmer and available now in paperback for $29.95 from Amazon.
