MacGyver’s Houseboat For Sale

The iconic float home used as MacGyver’s “Houseboat” during seasons 3-6 has been listed for sale in Vancouver for the 5th time since it’s use as MacGyver’s home.

The house is listed on rew.ca for $569,000 as a 1 Bed, 2 Bath, 1200 Sqft house.
Updates include a rain-screened exterior, new water filtration and self-contained waste treatment system, a refreshed kitchen and bathroom with updated appliances, a brand new roof (2021), fresh paint, and updated wiring and plumbing.

Named ‘Lands End’, the floating home was originally used in seasons 3-6 of the long-running action-adventure TV show ‘MacGyver’ where it was inaccuracy referred to as a houseboat – inaccurate because houseboats have motors for self-propulsion and are designed as livable boats, where-as Float homes must be towed into position and are designed to remain docked.

As it appeared after it’s first lot of renovations and paint job.

After filming had completed it was moved from Coal Harbor to Richmond Marina and from there a private marina in Langley, BC where the home was overhauled and renovated with notable changes including the small “garden” window being moved from the “kitchen” end of the house to the side wall where we saw the bookshelves in the show and the outside being painted blue.

The house was resold a couple of more times, eventually ending up in the hands of Kevin Hill by which time the home was in such bad shape that it needed to be stripped back to the bare frame and rebuilt. Kevin took advantage of this extreme makeover to restore much of the bare wooden exterior of the house while also adding his own updates such as replacing the French and front door with sliding doors and fitting extra windows around the bottom floor of the house. Once the renovations were complete the home was moved to it’s current location on the Fraser River in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada where it was sold to it’s current owner.
