MacGyver traveled to Budapest to pick up secret information from his old spy friend, Nikolai Grodsky; But the pickup was foiled when his friend was killed and the pocket watch containing the information got pick-pocketed from the dead agent by a young Gypsy thief whom MacGyver ended up helping escape, along with her family, from the relentless pursuit of Inspector Jan Messic and Nikolai Kossov.
