Reena is known in Budapest for fencing stolen goods. She refers to gypsies as stinking wharf rats she would skin and use as rugs, although she herself is a gypsy, admitting that “It takes one to know one.”

When Jana stole a watch from Nicolai Grodsky which contained Soviet intelligence information meant for MacGyver, she gave the watch to her brother, Bruno, who sold it to Reena.  After being honest with Reena and telling her why the watch was so important, and her own personal lie detector – mainly wine on the lips and a kiss – confirming the information, she decided as the authorities arrived at her bar, that MacGyver couldn’t afford to buy the watch back from her so gave it as a gift and helped him escape out a back window.
