Daniel Sims

Daniel Sims was an accountant, hired by Senator Rhodes to be the African Famine Welfare Administrator, charged with managing the $60 million that had been raised by the Senate Famine Aid Committee for famine relief in Africa. Sims, however,  stole the money, converted it to diamonds and flew to the Virgin Islands. Extremely nervous and fearful that he was being followed, Sims had intended to complete a transaction with Jack Catlin, but Catlin killed Sims, shooting him through the left eye and claimed the diamonds for himself.

MacGyver became involved when he was contacted by Senator Rhodes to see if he could help retrieve the money, which he and Rhodes daughter were able to do by stealing the diamonds back and returning them to famine relief.
