Frank Bennett

The younger brother of Joey Bennett, Frank had chosen to distance himself from the family’s crime syndicate and became an architect leaving brother Joey to take over running the one hundred million dollars a year business when their father, who had started the drug trafficking syndicate after immigrating from Eastern Europe, died.

When a young associate from Frank’s office died of a drug overdose, Frank tried to persuade Joey to shut down the business but he insisted that he could not be held accountable since he simply provided a service to addicts who would acquire the drugs anyway.

Despite his loyalty to his family, Frank was open to an approach by Federal Marshal Andrew Wiley asking him to testify against his brother Joey before the Crime Commission. When Joey learned that Frank was considering taking up the Marshal’s request he sent his henchmen, Max and Tommy, to abduct his brother while he was meeting with MacGyver to discuss his placement into a witness protection program.  They took him to a lumber warehouse where Joey and his attorney, Vincent Ivory, confronted him. Frank’s knowledge of the family business made him a liability, and when Joey could not convince him to remain loyal to the family, he was prepared to kill him to prevent the testimony. MacGyver was able to help Frank escape from the lumbar yard and the confrontation with his brother convinced Frank to go ahead with the testimony, which he gave before the Crime Commission.

When Frank’s mother, Caterina Bennett, told MacGyver she wanted to see him one last time MacGyver decided to make the visit possible despite Wiley’s insistence that it was too dangerous. After breaking Frank out of the Marshalls office they arrived at Caterina’s hospital room to find Joey had arraigned for her to be discharged and brought back to the family home, where he planned to let Frank visit her for one last time and then kill him. Knowing it was a trap, but counting on protection from the federal marshals outside the house, Frank went to the Bennet home and was able to see his mother one last time before she peacefully passed away. Meanwhile, Joey had used the similarity of the brothers’ voices to lure Wiley and the marshals away from the house leaving Frank unprotected from Joey’s murderous intentions.  However, his plan was thwarted when MacGyver broke into the Bennet home and rescued Frank via a zip-line escape over the fence just as Wiley and his marshals were returning to the house.
