Kari Kurikov is an Interpol Special Agent who was working under-cover as Prof. Cornwell’s Personal Assistant, Ireyna Voleskya. She had gone AWOL from Interpol after being asked personally by Prof. Cornwell to provide protection for him while he worked on his Saltwater Seed Project.
Her real identity was revealed after the professor was killed and she helped MacGyver escape police custody to find the real killer.

The Kari character was drawn based on lead artist, Will Sliney’s then girlfriend Laura O’ Callaghan. The two have since married.
